  1. I remember seeing the Redpath Museum in a movie a long time ago. I should go visit it with my fiancée. I do hope the Bibliothèque St-Sulpice will be put to good use and won't be demolished or turned into a spa, just like the church more north.
  2. I do hope this project does not see the light of day. Why can't he do this in Laval or somewhere else? If Coderre is for this, I think he just rubber stamps everything.
  3. I for one, wouldn't mind seeing a movie on a roof top. I miss having an outdoor cinema. I wish drive-ins still existed.
  4. Traffic around there will just get worse. Who knows, this project can probably kill off Rockland and they can level it and turn it into low income housing or something.
  5. It looks really nice. "10" more years until it is all completed.
  6. I love this law. I love being excluded from the rest of Canada, because the bureaucrats in Quebec are scared little wankers. It is sad, that politicians are scared to change some laws, that are quite useless and do more harm than good. Why can't we have a choice, to take part in something. Why do they have to take away our right to chose?
  7. It would be nice, if this project does see the light of day. It would bring "warmth" to that corner.
  8. Is this project moving or did it die?
  9. Congrats! What would have been interesting, is knowing the amount of people they get per sq.m. I am now just getting picky.
  10. I am really happy to hear that. Will Montreal finally get its first Michelin star restaurant? Who knows, depending how successful the restaurant is at the casino. Maybe the Weston family can get him to open up at the Holts-Ogilvy Hotel downtown. It can compete against The Ritz/Boulud or whenever the Waldorf goes up.
  11. It seems nice, but I am not holding my breath. I do hope something like this does happen.
  12. It seems like an interesting idea and hopefully it works, but who knows. Some stores shouldn't be open 24hrs, but at least extend it to midnight on say Friday and Saturdays. I moved to NDG-CDG near UdM. There is a 24hr market (until November), grocery store and pharmacy. Which is great, if you need something to eat at a weird hour or run out of Tylenol at 2-3am.
  13. Maybe, maybe not. It is a good sign that alternatives/renewables have been growing. It will be a while before all vehicles on the road either run on electricity or hydrogen or helium-3 (only if we start mining the moon). Exxon, Shell and other companies in petrol sector won't go bust anytime soon. Plus many large petrol companies, know what is coming and they have been buying into renewables for years now. On another topic. How close is Montreal or even the whole province to being 100% renewable (businesses/homes)? Seeing Burlington, is now 100% renewable and Vancouver is working on becoming 100%.
  14. He should have used shopbot.ca Long live Quebec protectionism. I thought Quebec was business minded and open for business, but I guess they like having their hand in everything and making sure people conform. Quebec language laws can be seen as extreme like a jihadist mindset, but at least the Quebec government doesn't toss people off buildings. They would rather just force people to pay up for a law that businesses find unjust. Yes it is good for people to know more than 1 language. The guy that wanted the doll, should go to small claims court and try and get the difference for the toy or for false advertising. Seeing why did Toys R'Us have the toy on their shelf, even though it was illegal to have it. It should have been in the backroom or not even posted on the website.
  15. I will be in shock, if this does actually sees the light of day (following the current design)
  16. The sooner this city gets more connected, the better.
  17. The best thing about that spot above. There is parking on that street under the 720 and you can park there every day for free all day.
  18. *taps fingers on desk* still waiting At least you can watch them work on stuff. It doesn't look like any progress, but at least they have a on-ramp/exit-ramp to nowhere right now.
  19. It is coming along nicely, even though I think they started what a year late?
  20. I was thinking of the same thing. I think, it will be a while before that lot is sold and turned into an office tower or condos. It will be ashame if it does get tagged.
  21. I wish them all the best. It will be interesting to see Montreal-style bagels / Poutines expand across the US and maybe into South America.
  22. Nope. More bad news to come soon. I was listening to two of my co-workers today and they were talking about other companies that they use to work for and who they are still in contact that. Things area really bad here.
