  1. It is pretty close to King David, which is another old folks home for the elderly within the Jewish community. Some people may dislike the idea of the segregation, but many people in the Jewish community would like their elderly family members to be in a secure environment. Seeing anti-semitism/xenophobia still exists and many people dislike Jewish people in general. So why put an elderly person in an environment, maybe with someone that dislikes that person's religion and that senior may not get the proper care.
  2. It seems many people don't want to pay now and when it comes to paying later they bitch and complain, if the government needs to increase the tax. I for one, wouldn't mind a toll on all bridges. It would force people to work closer to home or take public transit or more back on the island.
  3. I do agree keep the building on Tupper, the rest could be torn down. The only thing I do not know what they could do with this. All condos or a mixed use building, like condo/hotel or office/hotel. If there was more foot traffic, it might force the owners of the Forum to work on getting new tenants. I have seen many comments online wanting this to be a homeless shelter, which would be a good idea. Time will tell.
  4. It is impressive how SSense has grown over the years. I remember them being on Notre Dame Ouest near Notre Dame Basilica. Good for them!
  5. A dedicated track between Toronto and Montreal would be nice, no stops at 177 km/h. Is good, we would be able to get to Toronto or vice versa under 3 hours. If it was a TGV it be like what, 1 - 1.5 hours? It just sucks, travelling in Canada by train or flight. It costs an arm and a leg.
  6. I guess Montreal will not be getting a tram/light rail within the downtown core and surrounding area.
  7. Any movement on this?
  8. That is the dumbest thing I ever heard of. I am happy our election system isn't built like that.
  9. At least it is a start. I was thinking of this a few days ago, instead of the Quebec government giving $1 billion to Bombardier. I know it would save jobs, but how about give a billion to start-ups that may likely bring in even more jobs down the road.
  10. I miss driving around that area. I guess it was time for them to raise that place and revitalize it. I just do hope Metro and a few of the shops do stay.
  11. What would you like for them to do to the exterior?
  12. It is a much needed renovation. I wouldn't mind seeing that 180 degree screen.
  13. It looks great, let's see if it actually does happen. I just find the price tag a tad high.
  14. It is possible, seeing most of the first season was filmed in Montreal and Longueuil. I like that they used the old Royal Bank. I was watching the show and was like that looks like bank and after I realised, when they were in the alley in the first episode. It will be interesting to see if this project does go through.
  15. Pff... Marie should really get out of Quebec and see what else the world has to offer. Montreal does some things right compared to other cities, but I guess I am biased. Also this is another reason I do not read buzzfeed. It pretty much a hub for hipsters complaining.
  16. Now to wait and see how it will work out for Montreal. I still think we will get screwed by Ottawa and Quebec.
  17. I am happy to hear the Bell Centre will be getting some much needed upgrades. When is Bell's naming rights up? So I can start calling it the Molson Centre once again.
  18. I truly like the density! What is this look called right now, modern or futuristic or in like 10-15 years will it be contemporary?
  19. I driven past this thing a few times already. It is impressive, but $1.1 million. They should have just built a statue or something, which would have cost less.
  20. About time! I can't wait to see the finish product in 2017, that is if there isn't any other delays.
  21. Like they really need more homes or people over there. Traffic is a nightmare already and this will not help.
