  1. That is pretty much the exact picture I had. It's like you took it off my computer. I've been wishing for that area to be re-developed for a while. It's currently a giant waste of space in a beautiful area. Now if they would only extend the green line one extra stop..........
  2. I figured out where it is using the satalite overlay and google earth. I'll post the location when i get home from work. Hints: It is in Montreal. It redevelops currently used land. It is next to old railway tracks. All the trees are part of a major park. I would love to see this get build. It adds alot of density and style where it is really needed.
  3. The Ville-Marie borough passed a By-Law increasing the the denisty allowed on this site. I don't know what a 4 or a 6 signifies, but I'm sure someone here does.
  4. http://www.montrealgazette.com/Fire+forces+evacuation+Hyatt+hotel/1546853/story.html The smoke was visible all the way from Concordia at around 5:30.
  5. I could also be to connect to the Hydro sub-station accross the street. It might be the, or one of the, power supplys to the metro.
  6. Yes me too. With the Louis Boheme, the Quartier des Spectacles, les Lofts des Arts, le St. Alexandre, along with the infrastructure work being done along st. Catherine from Jeanne-Mance all the way to Phillips Square, and some more on de Maisonneuve, the entire area is a giant construction site. If, or when, the Spectrum and OSM projects get off the ground, it will add to the ballet.

    Quartier Concordia

The Quartier Concordia is expanding north, maybe..... http://www.montrealgazette.com/Outcry+over+plan+narrow+Mackay/1526846/story.html
  8. I think it has already been built on the corner of Hymus and Chemin Sainte-Marie. But it looks like they only build two thirds of it.
  9. If the train takes the CP tracks, it could take a left turn at Lucien, either overpass or tunnel onto the vacant parking lot accross the street. There a new terminal could be built specificly for the airport shuttle. The building could have pre-boarding checks to avoid lines at the airport and also be used for STM busses that currently wait on the street (410, 430, 480). A downtown shuttle bus could be set up running a loop on Rene-Levesque, St-Denis, Sherbrooke, Guy, serving the Voyager bus terminal, and stopping at hotels and main office buildings along the way. If the CP tracks are used, there will have to be a major upgrade to the station anyway, so you might as well spend the money and make it grand and usefull.
  10. It may cost billions and billions, and hopefully I'll never use it, but at least I like it.
  11. The grand opening for the new indoor portion was today. The outdoor portion, whos construction was stopped for the winter, should be done sometime this summer.
  12. It's kind of exciting to not know what it's going to look like. It's like christmas, and the present is a 15 story hotel.
  13. Where are these images from? Because there are also 2 towers at the other end of the island past the golf course, as well as two new smaller ones just before the course
  14. Using part of the federal spending plan, the Amtrak admin. wants to improve the Adirondack service. The new service will be faster, using CP tracks, and have no delays at the boarder. The shift to Lucien L'Allier would ensure that the station would get a muchneeded makeover, and allow an easy transfer to the nerver-to-be-built airport train. And for those of you that are also on the Metrodemontreal forum, this explains the Amtrak train that was recently seen at Lucien. 15. The old office building, HL1 in the diagram, has been completly gutted. Hopefully this means there is serious interest in the project and that the renovations and new construction will move ahead quickly.
  16. The city announced the project last year, here is the press release It sounds like a great addition to the area. http://ville.montreal.qc.ca/portal/page?_pageid=65,106529&_dad=portal&_schema=PORTAL&_piref65_263689_65_106529_106529.next_page=htdocs/portlet/communiques/fr/detail.jsp&_piref65_263689_65_106529_106529.id=8960&annee=2007&mois=11
  17. 3 of the projects you added: 1175 Mackay, Le Mackay and Rue Crescent / Rue Drummond would really add alot to this area. On the site, are these renderings for rent and looking for tennants, or just hopes and dreams?
  18. That's really nice. Would love to see it get built.
  19. Hasn't this been build for a while now? You can see it from highway 13. There is also an Exceltech hanger that is being built right next to it, and that is almost complete too.
  20. http://www.montrealgazette.com/Business/Exclusive+Green+light+Seville+project/1302966/story.html The project just has to be approved by the city council.
  21. They are also pouring the foundation for another project on the corner of Marcel-Laurin and de Louisbourg, just north of the tracks. No idea what it is going to be, there isn't a sign or even the name of the contractor
  22. There is more info on this in another thread. http://www.mtlurb.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4539 And just an update from passing on the train, they have poured concrete for 6 of the floors, and are starting to form the outside walls on the bottom floors
