  1. Thanks Gilbert for those renderings Now that is what I call a casino. Can I place my bet on Formula One though?
  2. I've walked by it so often, I never really noticed until now that it was brick.
  3. Toronto (playground) As much as I dislike Toronto, this area that they are building around the Rogers Center and what not is quite impressive. It is around 0.3 sq.km. It seems many cities are going this route: Las Vegas (CityCenter), L.A (Live), London (Canary Wharf) and there is probably others I left out. Not sure if this part of Toronto has an official name.
  4. Venezuela is now #1 in OPEC (reserves) with almost 300 billion barrels. Saudi Arabia is now second. Which puts Canada in third place.

    Montreal Toasts Gaultier

I should totally see the exhibit next week, when my ex is in town.
  6. Is it me or does this building that SNC built in Ontario look like a small version of the superhospital (picture below).
  7. Where the blue arrow is pointing, is what the proposal for the SNC second tower could look like. It looks like a taller tower then the first one.
  8. Altoria still marked at 120m, sorry to burst your height bubble At least the buildings that might go up around the Bonaventure Expressway can be 80m and not 60m
  9. The area where Place de la Cité Internationale (Phase II) would be built is can now accommodate a building that is in the +/- 210 m range and not the 120 m range. That is what I can tell from that document that was posted in another thread. It for sure would be nice to see another what 15-20 floors on this building.
  10. Only thing that I found in the document is this... Not sure if that helps. There is one area that was marked as 120m but it is now +/- 210m, which is where the Place de la Cité Internationale (Phase II) would be built, whenever that would be though
  11. I am not a fan of the bricks, they should use stone like the rest of the buildings in that area.
  12. I wonder when the Montreal 2025 website will post stuff about, Cote-Liesse Expressway. They do have a website up, but no real info.
  13. That whole area is a complete war zone. It is backed up all the way to Rockland and even the area around Rockland under construction, yet again. Even Montreal's 2025 website, doesn't even show plans what they are doing to that area
  14. I can't wait to see The Bay's new look at Anjou. I saw the new look at The Bay downtown, for the first time a few weeks ago. I was quite impressed, it seems slightly more like a proper department store.
  15. 30.5 billion barrels* / 525,000 barrels per day (2008 refining capacity) = 159 years. Current value is $2.8 trillion, which is $17.6 billion per year. That is if the price of oil doesn't go bellow C$93 per barrel. Which would pretty much be all exported. I just wonder if Quebec will pull an Alberta / Alaska, pay citizens royalties each year, because of the oil. *1 oil barrel = 158.987295 litres
  16. I thought it was that, but I wasn't sure. Plus I thought they closed down or was that another place on Sherbrooke that closed last year or two years ago? Man time flies
  17. (Courtesy of the Financial Post) Reason I put it in culture, it seems more of a Quebec culture to be more laid back and no really care about material wealth, but that is my own point of view.
  18. SEPT. 25, 2011 CANADIENS vs. BRUINS 7:00PM HALIFAX, NS OCT. 1, 2011 CANADIENS vs. LIGHTNING 7:00PM COLISÉE, QUEBEC CITY Plus our first home game against the Winnipeg Jets is on January 4th. Seeing the NBA wont have a 2011-2012 season and maybe the NFL. Do you think NBA/NFL diehard fans will watch hockey for the 2011-2012 season?
