The first project, before SIDEV came on board and bought the land, the one that Spectra wanted to do, included a FNAC store, a french chain of what… cd’s, dvd’s, tv’s… exactly the same as best buy, only different, and what would have made it more acceptable to many was the fact that it’s french and not american, and second, that would have been their first store in montreal not their XXth store.

 

Since the beginning, this project included an electronics/entertainment product store, and it’s something that fits right in the Quartier des Spectacles.

 

And Saturnus, from your own example, best buy isn’t destroying any mom and pop shop, they are either not in the same market, or you prefer to buy online, which in this case, also hurts those independent shop owners.

To be fair, there's only 3 Best Buys on the island of Montreal, and 9 if you include the whole greater Montreal region.

Would you live in the Marché Central??

 

Right now no. In 10 years from now as part of a redevelopment of the northern section of Marche Centrale, that section of l’Acadie and the industrial area directly to the west, when there is no room left on eastern Cote Vertu and on either side of the 15 north of Sauve/Cote Vertu to develop and Chabanel is redeveloped along with boul. Saint-Laurent, then quite possibly. There are many areas in this city that 10 years ago people wouldn’t dare dream of living in that are now deemed as semi or even very attractive places to live.

quelles sont les chances, d'apres vous, de revoir naitre de ces ruines une nouvelles salle de spectacle de type cabaret, un genre de spectrum 2, integre a un nouvel ensemble ?

 

du genre entree de la salle de spectacle la ou etait le spectrum, sur bleury un best buy, du stationnement au sous sol sur etages et des tours a usage mixtes par dessus ..
