  1. They were featured on this Spacing Montreal article not too long ago... I think the sad truth is that unless someone shows up with a lot of money, whoever owns these beauties is just gonna let them rot until the city declares them dangerous.
  2. Lincoln closed between St-Marc and Fort due to strong winds messing up the Chateau Lincoln renovation equipment. That lift (right on top of Jardin du Fort) was dangling something wild!
  3. Cops closed Ste-Catherine between Chomedey and Atwater. Shit's flying off the Seville!
  4. Isn't that dangerous? Especially at Altoria considering one of them can damage the other.
  5. Today's a holiday and no one's on site.... so why has the taller crane been spinning all afternoon long? Almost as if someone forgot to put on the handbrake...
  6. Le Palais des congrès pourra s'agrandir Can someone please explain to me what the bold part means? Are they gonna build the condos, or are they going ahead with the expansion?

  8. Yeah I thought it was a little weird. I'm gonna set that guy straight tomorrow. Thanks for the info.
  9. I spotted a couple of Triomphe ads in bus stops this morning, around Dorchester Square.
  10. Well, I would guess they're going to use a mobile crane similar to the one at 1486 Ste-Catherine (maybe the same!)
  11. Some firsthand info from the foreman: they won't install a crane because they're stuck between two buildings. So it'll be interesting to watch this go up. Also they're only digging for a single basement level which will house all mechanical/electrical equipment. No parking. BTW here's what the site looked like in 1959:
  12. Montréal 1957, Archives de la Ville de Montréal Francais: ( ) ( ) English: ( ) ( ) Where is the located (University at St-Antoine)? And when/why did the MGH stop flying the ?
  13. It would be DUMB if these new buildings don't extend the RESO (I think CCE opted out). It'd be so awesome if they closed the loop too.
  14. Actually... I was told sales have already kicked in for this phase 2.
  15. You wanted crappy cellphone pics... I got crappy cellphone pics. From a higher perspective From street-level
  16. Renovations to 1440 Ste-Catherine in the background The back of this beauty is now completely bare
  17. You can clearly see the two extra floors now, as well as balconies which overlap the existing building.
  18. I'll have pictures by 5:30PM. A sign on the building said we had until November 27th 2012 to contest demolition of this building. Obviously nobody bothered showing up.
  19. All I can really say is that from my (well above-ground) vantage point, there is heavy machinery inside the building and they have torn down parts of the back wall today. I'm not sure what kind of pictures I can take from street level. They are also doing some work next to the Victoria Pub's backyard terrace. Maybe 3 or 4 guys total.
  20. I'm starting to think I should have kept to myself. Whatever.
  21. Don't shoot the messenger with old memes! I leave photography to the pros like Memphis and Yvon, unless you're OK with my crappy cellphone shots.
