  1. that's cool. we were considering going this weekend but the shitty weather threw us off. certainly seems like a better idea than the summer "beach".
  2. There's a nice big crane on site, portable but still impressive. Things seem well on their way. Didn't think they'd preserve the facade.
  3. In your opinion, what makes this block so sketchy and unappealing? It's right between The Bay and Place des Arts so plenty of foot traffic. Even the tattoo place looks decent. Maybe when they're done tearing up Bleury it'll come around? Don't forget that 539 Ste-Catherine is also coming up nicely. Correct on the old Esprit location. Maybe the problem in both cases is that they're a little too big for the current demand? Five Guys filled up their building nicely, but it was a lot smaller.
  4. Here we go again! Archivex is the new Ilot Voyageur and 1750 Cedar. http://www.lapresse.ca/actualites/regional/montreal/201301/08/01-4609431-montreal-les-hostilites-reprennent-entre-partis-de-lopposition.php
  5. I really hate to necropost, but I'm legitimately wondering why the hell this place is still empty! Legal trouble? Place is too big for clothing stores, not large enough for a big box retailer? Seems like it would be a perfect location for somekind of Apple store competitor (whatever that would be) is that what the promoters are holding out for?
  6. Picture is from 1983. CLSC was built in 1993. Chateau Latour is just as disgusting today as it ever was.
  7. same here. I bought a bunch of tshirts off ebay years ago and that's all the gear I'll ever need. I'll be streaming the games. They better play like they mean it.
  8. Sort of off-topic, but I noticed that the building at corner Maisonneuve / Bishop is undergoing renovations. They are putting windows on the southern facade... as a result we are losing the "crounch crouch" painting: http://goo.gl/maps/kDv3z
  9. yeesh... gotta go what ya gotta do, I guess.
  10. Excuse me while I throw up. What is that big white thing? This is just a temporary rendering right? Well if people here got all up in arms about the Sax, then I'm sure something can be done about these. This is my neighborhood.
  11. I don't see the problem with having more competition/offering in the area. I've been fighting with the Fort P.A. crowds for years, I want that Adonis all to myself!
  12. Good point. We just walk to work, never actually used the 'burb train. I still think it's a relevant quesion, although out of scope. Who am I kidding, we're not leaving the island
  13. If I ever decided to live off the island, it'd be some project like this one. Going to keep a close eye on it. How busy is the train line in the morning? Possible to get seats between 7 and 8AM starting from St-Lambert?
  14. Doesn't make sense how the Crystal shows up as a reflection!
  15. Cacao 70 was absolutely full today. I blame all these new Seville residents!!!!
  16. I see. Last I heard the Adonis was still a rumor, much less coming soon. First time hearing about the Starbucks personally.
  17. Somewhat related to this thread... "Nouveau poste de ventilation sur la ligne orange" http://journalmetro.com/actualites/montreal/188743/nouveau-poste-de-ventilation-sur-la-ligne-orange/
  18. Do the Seville residents know something we don't? I walked by an ad that said "Starbucks in February" and "Adonis very soon!" (also 1850$ for a 937 sqft, yeesh)
  19. Screw the Sax. This shouldn't be torn down.
  20. http://goo.gl/maps/1Mhq4 Saint-M's neighbor building. Then when Univers goes up, that's it for ugly parking buildings in the area.
