  1. I beleive it closed down because the chef, who is very well reputed in the culinary world (French chef by the name of Rodriguez) decided to try his luck elsewhere. He was pursued by several major restaurants in New York and it wasn't until late last year he was pursued by St.James Hotel to be the star chef at Restuarant XO.
  2. Well I do care. As you they are plugging up all of the parking spaces and what do we have to show that is of sustenance? A prestigious Hotel & REsort chain such as the St. Regis, The Conrad, The Shangri-La etc etc.. at least with them you know you will get a classy building of stature not just another Mariott pluggin a hole. Adding these chains to the list of hotels we have will only add to Montreal's lustre.
  3. Ever since the OPUS people took over GODIN, the quality of the hotel has increased big time. They have added the SUCO lounge and now the restaurant which I beleiev opens this week. They know what they're doing, that's for sure. I will most definitely check out KOKO resto.
  4. Agree w/ yarabundi...this building blends in well with the surroundings. I ahve no beef with it.
  5. Not that I'm complaining but is this city built on only Hilton & Mariott's of this world. A little diverse please.
  6. This team has matured and will be stronger next year. We have a good young nucleus with the club and in the farm systems + great drafting...will be fine. Thank you Montreal Canadiens for a great season, looking forward to the draft in June and Next season!
  7. Will this hurt downtown Montreal? People will continue to move to the suburbs and not in the city core.
  8. In terms of restaurant in this great city of ours, I beleive we are second to New York in terms of populace vs number of resto. It's quite impressive and the ethniticity of our dishes are mouth watering. It's all about food & women, baby!
  9. I understand the Smolinski line has been the best in the playoffs but we need to get our top 2 lines going. They need to be there on the ice and get out of this funk they're in. Don't forget, we just tied the game, the momentum is on our side, Biron looks like he was fighting with the puck the last half of the game, it was time to bury them and we did not cause our best players were on the bench after we tied them. The smolinski line has a role to play and their role is not to put the puck in the net (If they do...bonus) but to bring energy and to prevent the opposing team frm scoring. This game was crucial and we needed to do everything in our power to win this game.
  10. One thing for certain, the Habs problems is not in goal, it's their lack of scoring. What the heck has happened to the best powerplay in the league and the most prolific scorong team in the league. You can not win hockey games when you're down 2-0 practically every game. After the Habs tied the game at 2, why in heaven's name did Carbonneau put the Smolinski line on the ice? We had the momentum, you should immediately put your best two lines to finish them off and the game. WTF!!!
  11. Gents...we could have very well been behind 2 games to 0. Habs need to play alot better than what they are showing.
  12. I never knew we had this many cavemen in Montreal! Bunch of idiotic morons...and what's with the booing of the American National Anthem. Low friggin class... last I checked, Komisarek, Higgins, Smolinski are Americans and many more in the minors. It looks like we have to get several francophone and anglophone hockey players to make a pre-game public announcement about not booing and to behave after the game. Friggin neanderthals. Other than that, I'm extremely proud of our hockey team. The Begins, LaPierre's, Komisarek, Kostitsyns, Kovalev and of course our Captain Koivu who literally transformed this sagging team and lead them to round two. LAst but not least who can forget the iceman Carey Price!! Huge saves in the 1st propelled the habs to this victory. The wind is now on our sails...bring on the Rangers or the Flyers.
  13. This is great! I was somewhat worried after the initial news. This is going to be a 5 star hotel based on the one already opened in Prague.
  14. I think we should forget about Mont Tremblant and concentrate on creating a brand new structure and upgrade the valur of this wonderful city we live in. A new Casino in the city would definitely elevate the city's status as a first class venue. I think Loto Quebec and / or Cirque de Soleil should brainstorm and come up with other alternatives.
  15. I don't get this thread. Waste of time.
  16. That's right Habsfan, almost a perfect game. The 3rd and 4th lines made the difference. Although the powerplay went 0 for 5, we had strong games from Begin, Lapierre, Kostopolous, Smolinski etc etc... the unsung heroes we don't hear too much about. We out hit the Bruins which I beleive caught them a little off guard. yes, the win was great but lets not get overly excited as the Bruins will adjust, lets hope the Habs do as well. ps...I knda like Higgins playing centre, he's a different player, more involved and is utilizing his speed considerably. Go Habs Go!
  17. The restaurant and terrace is scheduled to be ready by Grand Prix week-end.
