Imaginez avec la Cité Int II + 701 Université (si on peut les avoir, un jour...) la densité des gratte-ciels dans ce secteur viendrait rivaliser le secteur boul. de Maisonneuve/Ave. McGill College!

Avec les fenêtres et les finitions, je commence a trouver ce projet moins terrible. 6/10 Quand même pas si mal, disons que ça aurait pu être pire! Je le prends! Quand on regarde vers le futur, les projets qui s'en viennent sont d'une belle architecture (Altitude, Waldorf, 1037 Bleury, U phase III, etc.) alors le 990 va tomber dans l'oubli assez rapidement

I'm working on a realistically plausible vision for Jeanne-Mance. I'll make a post about it soon with pics and renderings. My plan is, basically: Bulldoze the whole area, reconnect the street grid, build high-density mixed-use all over the place, with some green spaces here and there. -

I'd much rather live in some urban neighborhood than in condos surrounded by a mega-mall. But that's just me... i guess i'm sort of happy that they're building some medium-density on top of land that i was convinced would be more parking lots. So that's a plus.

This project is critical for improving the overall feel of the eastern part of QdS. Public spaces without buildings around them feel terribly lacking. -
Some big city density going on here! I love it! Reminds me of some parts of Manhattan and Brooklyn! This is the kind of development we need to see around all metro stations, and in the areas near downtown. 75 000 new citizens downtown? It's easily done -- if we start doing more of this.

Si 100% des Québécois parlent l'anglais --- je m'en fiche --- tant qu'ils parlent aussi le français et que le français reste la langue d'usage #1. Donc pour moi, la solution est simple: 1. Vous venez vivre ici? Vous devez apprendre nos langues. C'est le contrat qu'on fait avec vous. En ce moment, le CLIC (Cours de langue pour les immigrants au Canada) n'est pas obligatoire mais bien "fortement recommendé". Il faut insister sur l'apprentissage du français. 2. Offrir un meilleur français à l'école. Voir exemple Il faut éliminer les : "Hé man kesé tu fa tanto? On se voie plus tart pour allez mangé? Ses cool!"

New York City subway has figured out how to do this easily. A "line" that has a basic axis/orientation is colored and given a name. Example, the green line goes north-south along Lexington ave, but branches off into different areas once in the Bronx. The different sub-lines are numbered 4, 5 and 6. Some lines are express, some are local. Some of the track is shared, some is not.

I do believe the Blu Rivage is topped out. At its current height, it's taller than the shorter of the two Port de Mer buildings (101 pl. Charles Lemoyne) but i do believe 99 pl. Charles Lemoyne edges it out by just a bit. -
It's going to shave off a good 15 minutes off the total trip time to Burlington! (While making for a much safer, economical and pleasant ride.)
