  1. I heard Kostitsyn and Gorges are healthy scratches tonite
  2. Good game for the habs against the sabres the other night. Great to see Higgins finally light up...now if we can get Ryder to wake up than we'll be in good shape. Anyone know if LaPierre is playing tonight?
  3. As much as I would like for it to happen, I wouldn't hold my breath. Too bad though, 'cause it would benefit Montreal big time.
  4. We do need a big enforcer; however, M. Carbonneau says he does not need one. My theory is this, if he doesn't need one than why carry Murray and why did we get Kotsopolous...because they bring energy? We need guys who can put the puck in the net not run around like headless chickens given out 2.5 checks per game. Get rid of these deadbeats and bring up LaPierre, Sergei K and Matt D'Agostini and see what energy + playmaking = C'est le buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuutttttttttttttttttttttttttttt. Calvert. They do have youth like the three I mentioned + Mike Fischer, McDonaugh, Pacioretty, Emelin, Maxwell, Korneev etc etc...we do have talent, we do not use them to their full potential.
  5. The Canadiens were extremely fortunate that they ran into a Ottawa Senators team running on only 4 cylinders 'cause the score would have been a lot worse my friends. The Heatley goal should have been a penalty!!! The refs last night was one of the worst officiated game I've seen. Yeah Kostopolous fucked up but what in heaven's name is he doing on the ice at a critical time in the game? I think Carbo suffers from mental lapses... Yesterday not one Hab was on their game, not one!! There was no flow to the Canadiens game, the passes were sloppy, it seemed the puck was just boouncing off their skates. Very discouraging. Is it me or did Koivu look like he was about to collapse? He couldn't skate last night...ah, neither did the rest of the team. Pitiful just pitiful.
  6. Yeah, I know with Trump you are paying for the name; however, it's a name synonomous with wealth and Joie de vivre. If people could afford it, than good for them. It would be nice if the following chains such as the PARK HYATT, THE CONRAD, THE WALDORF ASTORIA's of this world settle in our fair city. We need more Higher end Hotels...just my opinion
  7. I agree with WestAust. I took a drive to the airport and at the entrance before the Hilton, The Aloft was up, albeit 4 floors but rising nicely. The Mariott is indeed along the new Transborder hall. That whole area looks kinda cramped as far as I'm concerned. There's also two more hotels going up on Cote de Liesse closest to the airport.
  8. I'm really jacked about this project if it's approved. Montreal needs a tower like this. We have too many towers that look the same. The corner of De LA Montagne & Rene Levesque will be an awesome corner.
  9. That would be some undertaking for the city to tackle a project of that magnitude.
  10. Yikes! Great job...you definitely have an eye for this. keep up the great work!
  11. Let's get LaPierre & Chipchura in the line up. We need to get bigger! Grabovski needs more seasoning in the AHL and the Dandinault experiment as a forward should stop. Brisebois as a 4th defencemen is way over the top! With any other team he would be the 6th or 7th defenceman. He's already cost us a couple of goals. Will the real Crostobal please step forward cause the old one is back to his old tricks...mental lapses which evidently costs us goals. He<s good for 1 or 2 soft goals. Price will be 31 by Christmas.
  12. Do you we know who the architect(s) for this is/are? Do we have an outline of what this place might look like...or is it still too early?
  13. I agree with you Robert. I guess they wanted mosaic windows like the international trade centre next to it.
  14. Gilbert, WOW, great pictures!! Did you see anyone in the Hamilton team that can play with the big club next year? Grabovski, Chipchura??? Is there any tough guys? Bonneau perhaps...
  15. I love everything about this project. The Victorian base and the tower itself. The colour scheme fits the neighborhood. Finally a project worth while.
  16. I just hope they're serious about this stuff!! Montreal needs this badly!
  17. Habsfan, Joey Saputo was on the TEAM 990 over the week-end with Noel Butler and Tony Marinaro of "Oranges at Halftime" and he stated if all goes well regarding fan interest (filling the stadium every home game) he will not rule out jumping leagues. He felt Montreal should have been awarded the MLS team. The interest is there as they now have a feeder team in Trois Rivieres.
  18. Took a ride in the neighborhood last week and found it to be quite nice. I can imagine it in the summer time.
  19. Yeah, but the Toronto stadium looks like a stadium. The Stade Saputo does really look minor league. I heard Joey Saputo say that he would like to take the IMPACT to the MSL in the near future and I guess per Habsfan can accommodate 17,000 when the time comes. I never did like this project, I don't like the suggested sight vs downtown and I sure as hell don't like the design. The intention was to accommodate 20,000 screaming soccer fans while the FIA under 21's were in town...again under Montreal's city lights. Toronto's new soccer stadium is on CNE exhibition place. The blue jays original home field.
  20. Now that you mention it, I took a look at Vancouver skyline and Yep...Agree with Gilbert! It's missing the Montreal / European dynamic. It's still a nice building though.
