    Guess you don't have to take my word for it then. Why don't you go visit the sales office for yourself. Let me be absolutely clear: This has nothing to do with the Dorchester graystones, not even the current sales office will be torn down. This will entirely be built upon the parking lot I've identified in the first post. Starts at the gray Mazda and ends at the Bar B Barn sign on the third picture. Another point: these are gonna be cheap at 250K for a 900sf 2BR. That's the promoter's main selling point: low prices. They want to start digging by the year's end, or as soon as they reach 50%. At least one floor is 100% sold already, 15th I think.

    1200 Mackay - www.condosmackay.com This is entirely located along Mackay, nothing on Rene-Levesque. Sales office is at 1160 Mackay, but building is on adjacent parking lot. I was told that the promoters still plan on building a 30-odd floor tower behind the Maharaja.

    From 120 to 200 millions. Laval: les coûts de la Place Bell ont été largement sous-estimés Les coûts de construction de la Place Bell ont été largement sous-estimés. Il en coûtera 200 millions, soit un tiers de plus que ce qui a été prévu par l'ancienne administration de Laval, vient d'annoncer le maire Marc Demers. En conférence de presse, M. Demers a détaillé les problèmes financiers du projet. Ainsi, les places de stationnement étaient en nombre insuffisant. Pour corriger la situation, un nouvel investissement de 20 millions sera nécessaire. S'ajoute la sous-estimation du coût des équipements et des contingences qui pourraient survenir en cours de travaux. La facture s'élève à 42 millions. Les espaces commerciaux ne correspondent pas aux besoins exprimés. Du coup, 8 millions de plus devront être dépensés. La construction générale de l'édifice a également été révisée à la hausse pour atteindre 130 millions plutôt que les 120 millions prévus. Au total, le projet qui devait totaliser 152 millions grimpe ainsi à 200 millions. De cette somme, la portion déboursée par les partenaires privés, Bell et Evenko, est maintenue à 32 millions. Les deniers publics pourraient donc être fortement sollicités à nouveau. Déjà en janvier dernier, Marc Demers avait réclamé une augmentation de 15 millions de la participation du gouvernement du Québec. Le maire arguait alors que les Lavallois avaient droit de bénéficier d'un soutien équivalent à celui accordé à la population d'autres villes où la construction d'amphithéâtres était prévue (Québec et Trois-Rivières, par exemple). À l'heure actuelle, le gouvernement assume 38 % de la facture publique contre 50 % pour les projets trifluvien et québécois. La gestion du projet de la Place Bell est sous la responsabilité de l'organisme à but non lucratif, la Cité de la culture et du sport. L'amphithéâtre doit voir le jour en 2017.

    I'm not sure if they did end up shooting in Montreal, but they sure rolled by Sherbrooke. Good for the "Queen of the Eastern Townships" and its charming downtown area (Wellington North, at least).     I am not 100% sure but I don't think the Montreal Canadiens ever played there. That's not to say these are not storied grounds, au contraire. It was the first building to be electrified in Canada after all! Everyone should read about the Victoria Skating Rink. Taylor Noakes also wrote about it. Billy Georgette wants to turn it into a Hockey Walk of Fame of somekind, bless his heart.
