  1. I wonder, if we will see the day that they start destroying triplexes and all those other small buildings in the city and start building more high rises, to give this city more density.
  2. Found this on Just For Laughs Facebook page.
  3. Nice video The last part with the promenade with the kiosk, I haven't seen something like that since I was at some port in Europe.
  4. Sugar Beach Toronto looks really nice. It would be nice if they did fix the beach on Jean Drapeau.
  5. (Courtesy of Canoe) Picture below from Laval document released today... Plus it seems they want want station connection to the mall, which is a good idea. Plus I found an article dating back a few years about Longueuil (?sp) also wanting a light-rail (tram) for their area also.
  6. Funny thing is, I have yet to step foot in a Wal-Mart. I don't even think I will ever step in a Target. It is not like we will be seeing the same cost savings as the US anyways.

  8. Now that is nice, sucks that was scrapped or wont look like that in 14 years from now. Would be interesting if the Cirque did move their big top from the Old Port into Griffintown.

  10. The MET has one of the most beautiful art collection for starters. Hey, at least I didn't compare it to the Smithsonian.
  11. Only hospital that has a helipad, is the St-Justines. Not sure if it was ever used though. How many helicopters do we really need for this city, 4 to 6? The way I see it, Ms. Richardson could have taken the ambulance to Tremblant Airport and be flown to Trudeau and after that take a helicopter. Something like that would take what 30-45 minutes, instead of a 2+ hour ambulance ride. Actually I am surprised there is no Level 1 or 2 hospital near Tremblant or any other ski park.
  12. I was bored, so I ended up looking up the size of the MET in NY and that is 2.2 million plus square feet (in one building) and our Fine Arts museum is split into 3 buildings? We is like 220,000-250,000 sq.ft (total). The MET is almost 10x the size of Montreal's fine arts building. I think you could put all the museums in Montreal in the MET and they would still have space for the exhibits.
  13. [video=youtube;qwntq-38vDM] I should really go check it out, when I am done my project in June.
  14. Montreal future hotspot for the summer. At least now you get a great view of the city. I am surprised they didn't want to do something similar on Jean Drapeau. I know some other cities in Europe have something similar and they setup small outdoor day clubs. As for the kids, I guess they can put glass at the end. It be pretty funny, seeing a toddler running and smacks into the glass Tel Aviv Beach in Wien (Vienna) Now this is totally off topic, but it be pretty cool if the city takes up NY idea and uses barges as a pool (picture below) or even the dumpster/container pool (picture below). The dumpster pool be pretty cool, have them all over the city. barge Dumpster
  15. I just thought of it, not sure if it was addressed. Seeing they plan on building condo / apartments in that area, what will be doing to that paper recycling place thats on Notre-Dame?
  16. Nice Hopefully this or the new super-hospitals with have helicopters. It be funny, spending billions on a massive hospital, yet still have no helicopter service.
  17. It is interesting how big this project has gotten. 11 phases thats quite amazing.
