  1. very interesting... unfortunately looking at the photos Altoria will be completely blocked off by place victoria and Altitude will also be invisible from this angle
  2. The major problem I have with Sunlife's departure is that after all these years certain elements of Quebec's population still don't get it,you don't adopt an attitude of GOOD RIDDANCE whenever a large company leaves the province, the insanity has to end before Montreal becomes another Detroit
  3. So what has your brave stance against the evil anglo companies accomplished, other than billions of dollars of economic damage and set Montreal back 30 years compared to the rest of Canada...some victory
  4. They didn't bother to try did they, neither did the Royal bank, the bank of Montreal, Canadian pacific and countless others
  5. Before everyone gets so smug about Sunlife trying to re-establish in Quebec, you should consider the company is active in 10 foreign countries and has over $460 billion of assets under management, so I guess they're not doing too bad working out of Toronto
  6. Anyone know what's happening nearby at De Montagne and William?, they dug a huge hole and put up construction fencing all around , however the place looks abandoned there's not one piece of equipment on the sight
  7. http://www.ccmm.qc.ca/fr/calendrier-..._GrandsProjets
  8. "opening summer 2012" I guess they're referring to the hotel section which looks like 10-12 floors,no way that building will be anywhere near finish by next summer
  9. Anything is better than the original rendering which looks like a giant pharmaceutical factory
  10. I'm sorry but this is much different than the house of jazz which preserved the entire exterior of the building (at a fraction of what this project will cost)..this is like spending $20,000 fixing up a rusted shitbox of a car while you could've bought a brand new car for $17,000, but as long as the government is paying then let's spend spend spend spend
  11. what's the point of saving the original building when you end up gutting the interior and changing virtually the entire facade ?

    Death threats at McGill

Ouch! I hope not. Concordia might be close to it though, freaking Palestine Palestine Palestine all the friggin time. I got a little mad the other day in one of the workshops someone previous had drew such flag on the whiteboard, I was like "hey, we are not Poli Sci idiots this is supposed to be a bullshit free zone!" Ha Ha Concordia never changes, when I was there it used to be known as Gaza U, it was filled with professional arab students who didn't know where the library was located
  13. What exactly is left of the original building? it would have been a lot cheaper starting from scratch
  14. with over 2 billion dollars of construction happening a block away, you would think a developer would come up with something more impressive than a 17 storey building ,these people are sitting on a gold mine and don't realise it
  15. I used to be a fanatical supporter of the habs when I was 14 -15 years old................then I grew up
  16. how much money did Merck spend expanding their plant in Kirkland (including a ton of money from the provincial government) before pulling out?
  17. Looking real nice...would love to see a 40 storey tower go up using that material, probably end up costing 500 million
  18. Are you kidding me ? I'm not in the same league coming up with scoops as some of the pros on this web site, but if look at the facts Cadillac Fairview did spend a huge amount of money acquiring large tracts of land around Windsor station and they did send up a trail balloon about building on the site a few months ago, plus they haven't built a major project in downtown Montreal for over a decade so I'm guessing they might pull the trigger this summer..feel free to correct any mistakes (probably a lot) I made concerning this project
  19. That was my point compared to the projects you mentioned this building along with the waldorf will take well over half a decade to complete ...but what the hell things are looking up I got a feeling we'll be in for a shock announcement considering the Windsor station project this summer ( I get the same feeling every time I play 6/49)
  20. don't get me wrong I'm very happy this building is going up, I guess this is the way things are done in Montreal slow slow slow
  21. Really? then why were they allowed to roam the streets of downtown for almost 2 miles? why were they allowed to assemble in a public square wearing masks? why weren't they forced to empty their backpacks? why did the police allow this demonstration to take place in the first place without a permit?
  22. This annual anti-police brutality march is nothing but a farce, you have punks wearing masks showing up with knapsacks filled with rocks .The police then allow these losers to parade around the streets causing all kinds of damage to cars and stores. Why were they allowed to leave the QDS when they didn't even have a permit to demonstrate? and the worst part is the city gets stuck with a half million dollar security bill, and finally where is our great mayor when all this shit goes down?
  23. This has to be the slowest moving project in living memory..oh well at least we'll get a nice 36 storey building in the end
  24. That building is named Bronfman because the family was generous enough to donate money to build it, along with the CCA which Phyllis Lambert paided for out of her own pocket and you can add the Saidye Bronfamn centre to the list as well. Your narrow minded racist comments are so transparent, hey why isn't Jean Coutu included in your list (who's nothing more than a glorified drug pusher) is it because he's not an anglo or Jewish?
  25. if this project ever gets of the ground (probably won't) don't the developers have to get permission from Morrison's estate to use his image and name? and why would anyone name a hotel after an obnoxious drunk who dropped dead at age 28 (which along with James Dean is the only reason he became a legend)
