  1. Come on!, were talking about a toll bridge and it serves its purpose well.
  2. ummm Malek? seems like you forgot about this thread! More pictures please!!
  3. This could be Montreal's Yonge and Dundas. Cadillac Fairview has done some great skyscraper developments for Toronto such as the Maple Leaf Square which is a very hot place downtown with an amazing sports bar and shops around Air Canada center. If it can be done in Toronto, it can be done in Montreal. These questions of whether Montrealers are ready for such skyscrapers are completely ridiculous, one day or another, you're going to have to build such highrises to accomadate the demand of condos and office/mix use space. This is inevitable from my opinion, especially with the economic rise that Quebec has.
  4. Would be nice to see that building get a little refreshment, definitely would be a welcome improvement!
  5. Ha! this stadium will look better than Toronto's when its finished! Definitely a respectable design for a team such as the Impact
  6. its clear that MLB isn't going to come back to Montreal and I myself don't wish it to happen. MLB is going to blow as long as they will have a no salary cap budget for teams, this is sport is extremely unfair towards new expansion teams which have difficulty to compete with the Elite teams such as Yankees, Phillies, Red Sox etc. Plus in Toronto they have a misery to actually get 10 000-15 000 people per game. Yes they are few exceptions when The Yankees or Red Sox come, The Rogers Center usually sells out fully, but Baseball isn't going to work in Montreal especially when its 1.5 million people smaller.
  7. this building is still standing as we talk? This could be considered Montreal's Ryugyong Hotel...
  8. well in this case i wouldn't disagree with the activists, this is an important part of Montreal's heritage, its just the incompetence of the city to actually do something. They couldve transformed this lot into a beautiful park and this house being some sort of museum...it just takes imagination which seems to be lacking in lots of people
  9. I a myself an Ukrainian who speaks Russian and Ukrainian....In every of his videos he hasn't mentioned a single Russian word. In one of his videos i remember him saying that his character is actually fake. TBH i could care less....
  10. bah this crazy Russian is actually just a simple American impersonating a very bad Russian accent. Bringing typical stereotypes of Russians loving vodka, ak-47's, no common sense etc. Hes smart though, people seem to enjoy his videos
  11. if only it was built
  12. the gaming industry of montreal really thrives in making amazing games with examples as deus ex, assasins creed, splinter cell, prince of persia, far cry, hitman and i could name even more. really proud of what these guys do
  13. as much as i really want to see this project go forward, i think Montreal should have a priority to build a project like this on the east of its lakeshore (east of Pont Jacques-Cartier) where dozens of abandoned factories and warehouses have stood for decades without any signs of movement. yes there's is a railyard in front of it but it can be improvised easily. the potential of beautiful bike trails and green spaces is huge. not mentioning that it could stimulize the development of further River side condos and restaurants. So much wasted space that could be converted into an amazing project that would go all the way to the end of the island. With great views of the big Montreal Port and Laronde. This definitely would be a contender for movie settings! agree - disagree?

  15. wow truly shocking! barely weeks ago he looked fine, cant believe that!
  16. Moscow is filled with politicians, lawyers and criminals that have stolen money from the government and the people. Of course, Moscow of now isn't the Moscow that used to be 10 years ago when a ruined economy and horrible social living forced many people to get into crime and prostitution. This state of mind still remains now in Russia but isn't as strong as it used to be. Qwerty isn't quite right saying that Moscow doesn't directly have a "middle class" but I agree on the fact that if you go to the suburbs of Moscow, you'll be overwhelmed by the amount of ugly, deplored Commie Blocks in your sight where most of the poverty lies, but things are changing now with a middle class growing stronger because of the economic rise of Russia with the Olympics, Oil and Gas.
  17. i know this doesnt have to do about films and shows but i thought it was interesting, In this game, youll be able to play in Montreal in 2070 which is pretty cool. at 2:45 you can see the narrator say Montreal with a video showing the futuristic city. heres the link
  18. *sigh* this type of news is becoming a daily routine in the lives of many Montrealers. All we can do now is clean up the mess.
