  1. 600 places in their restaurant!? WOW! Let's just hope they can keep up with demand better than now. Even though I live in Saint Laurent, I shop at the Boucherville Ikea since it usually has stock of the items I want.
  2. That isn't a sales office. It's a telephone booth.
  3. I damn near fell off my chair when I saw that. Are we SURE this is Laval?
  4. CF won't be there because their design isn't finalized.
  5. I know someone who is integral in this project and let me tell you this: I don't think many will be happy with what it looks like. Let's put it this way: there's a reason why all of the renderings show the glass to be mirror-like. I'll post more where and when I can.
  6. Not 100% sure but I believe that is a protection film over a stainless / nickel finish. Sort of what you get over stainless steel appliances when you first get them delivered. It is peeled off after installation.
  7. Sorry, there is no way I would buy a "luxury" unit in a building that was 9/10ths Access Condo units.

    2144 Bleury - 25 étages

IMO, the way it is integrated into the old architecture and everything about this building makes it one of my favorite projects in Montreal.
  9. Count me impressed. However, I SILL think the height limitation in this area of town is really going to make all of the developments look stunted.

    Évolo 1 - 31 étages (2013)

Almost topped out. Man, this thing would have been stunning had it been 40 floors.
  11. Is it just me or does ti look like there are some great looking balconies tacked onto a sorry looking building?
  12. Laval "architecture" at its finest!!! Looks more like the Laval communist housing complex to me....

    Îlot Overdale (2013)

You can see it in the southeast corner of the plan. It seems to be integrated into a park space.
  14. Wow, those end-unit Marriot rooms are going to get completely devalued.
  15. The one in front of Roccabella = Icone. The one to the right of the CF project = Tour Windsor. Going west down RL is the proposed Mackay student residences (yellow), Overdale (red), Martime Plaza (blue) I think that pretty much takes care of it....
  16. Ironic that the word "snow" is used to give voice to all of this city's problems. Potholes? Well, it's because of show. Tons of trash on the streets throughout the year? Well, let's blame the snow! After years of dealing with city administrations across Canada, I can honestly say the one here in Montreal takes the cake (by a LONG shot) as the most backwards, do-nothing, bureaucratic and embarrassing bunch around. I can't go into details since that wouldn't be a good idea for my organization but seriously, the problems here have nothing to do with snow but rather the city itself. Oh, and for those of you wondering, it has become better under Tremblay but all of the problems I listed above are still rife throughout this city's administration process.
  17. Looking REALLY good. I'm just a bit worried about the east / west sides. They look a bit....Port Royal.
  18. Sorry, I don't like giving up perfectly fine space where no "infill" is required just to satisfy a height fetish. Unlike some, I am more than willing to sacrifice tall buildings for proper urban development and nothing about this tower makes sense from an urban planning standpoint. While it may be "just" a small square, it is one of the only public spaces (albeit small) within three blocks or so. And no, Cabot Square isn't close enough, nor does it have enough association with the Bell Center crowds. Personally, I would have loved to see the city expand the space into 1/2 of the parking lot in front of the Bell center and reserve the other half for development. The parking lot is already used as an area for "tailgates" in the playoffs as well as other, smaller events. Develop that whole area and you risk taking part of that Montreal "vibe" out of the area.
  19. Oscar Peterson. Expect it to have the same "overtones" as the SAX on Nun's Island.
  20. Someone needs to update the first post in this thread with all of the pics....
