  1. What they first need to do is get their presses running correctly. It seems like every second day there are major printing errors when it comes to photos. Also, if they are going web only they better improve their site.

    Évolo 1 - 31 étages (2013)

Looks like the renderings on the Evolo site were taken down? Unless it is just my internet here at work...
  3. I retract my previous statement. I just talked to my friend at Influenza and there are supposedly more units sold that are not being displayed on the website as that section hasn't been properly updated in ~2 weeks. Sales figures are slightly above 30 which means 50% sold without any real marketing push or sales office. That's pretty good IMO.
  4. Very true. I know at least two couples on my street who took serious interest in Altitude after receiving the pamphlets in the main. Maybe Altoria just needs a better marketing team or a meaningful marketing budget. You don't sell this number of units by word of mouth alone...
  5. Didn't the Shriners present their proposal two weeks ago? How come we haven't seen renderings of it?
  6. I don't agree. It makes zero effort to integrate itself into its environment and uses the same Soviet-era brown bricks to the same boring effect. This whole thing is beyond cliché already. I get spitting mad every time I see the Terrasses Windsor since I know that the clientel around is more than happy to have something that is just "good enough". This project is just another in a long list of "good enough to not look like the ghetto...yet".
  7. That's what I call an eye sore. It reminds me of the mole in Austin Powers.
  8. Right now Altitude is making too many waves for Altoria to really gain buyers at a meaningful pace. This goes to show that the downtown high rise condo market may not be here in Montreal.
  9. Simple: close the Jean Talon entrance and allow for a sweeping left corner from the service road to the Marcel Laurin entrance with an option to stay right to go to Cote de Liesse.
  10. They're missing the biggest problem of them all: the fact that motorists on Decarie North have to contend with cars merging across FOUR LANES in less than 400M at Jean Talon in order to get to the 40 west exit. It causes accidents, traffic, etc.
  11. In the long term I think the M9 is better placed. However, if the Bonaventure project actually ends up getting done, expect property values around there to initially plunge due to the noise, hassle and pollution that comes with a large infrastructure project. Knowing how long projects here in Montreal actually take to be completed, I would say you would be looking at 5-6 years of depreciated property value.
  12. The "new" rendering looks more like a preliminary rendering done prior to issuing the final one.
  13. Where are these new renderings? I still see the same communist white brick affair...
  14. I was just there yesterday. They are starting on floor #7 it looks like.
  15. I still maintain this will be an eye sore on the skyline of Montreal.

    Earthquake?!?

The first thing I thought: Check the live cams from the Turcot Interchange to see if it's still standing.
  17. Enough is enough. DEMO THE DAMN THING!!
  18. You can't equate the Embarcadero with the Bonaventure. No way. The Embarcadero Freeway was damaged by an earthquake in 1988 or 1989 (can't remember which one) and stood vacant for YEARS before it was put to demolition. In that time, several byways and alternate freeways were constructed to take up the overflow. Not so with the Bonaventure. Here we are seeing a quick, free-flowing autoroute demolished and pedestrian's lives being put at risk. Do you realize how many Montreal drivers will be more than happy to blow through the traffic lights proposed? How does anyone in their right mind think this will allow for additional development in the Griffintown area? Will this act like a magic wand that will put and end to all the NIMBY organizations, lack of services and general disuse of that sector? Methinks not. Like it or not, even the major developers are scared out of their mind when it comes to that area. Just look at the large redevelopment project by Devimco. Scaled back and I am sure soon to be put on hold. No amount of pointless "urban boulevard" invesement will make one lick of difference other than to clog our alread overused and under constructed streets.
  19. And since when do we know how to properly-sync lights here in Montreal?
