  1. There is now a video up on their site. Also, the official number of floors is 32, not 33. Number of units sold remains at 33 but there is something worrying: none of the east & north east pointing units have been sold. Guess people don't want to be staring at an office tower outside their bedroom windows.
  2. 37 floors is exactly the same height as the Hilton Garden Inn. Are we sure this wasn't an old proposal for that project?
  3. This may look good but it just doesn't make any sense to me. Isn't there already a Courtyard downtown? I'm also confused about the design since in my experience, Marriott Courtyard chain hotels are usuall low-rise and under 15 floors. Unless their building plan has superceded that of the standard Marriott brand...
  4. IMO, the end cost will be MUCH higher than 1.3 billion when you factor in other developments in the area of the original project. Just Phase I of the current project is pegged at nearly 1/2 billion and that only accounts for ~ 4 blocks. If you add in projects like Hotel Mo, Carre De La Montagne and others which haven't been announced, I am sure the figure will hit a billion for the general area before the end of Q1 2011.
  5. With that many people interested, they would be absolutely nuts not to adjust the scale of their project.
  6. I believe they are working 24 / 7. I passed by on Sunday night and the construction crews were going full tilt.
  7. They could have made this thing 3x 25 floors and it would have still sold out.
  8. And it's going to be a student residence so you can bet it will look like the rest of the bland, boring, red brick student buildings in Montreal. Remember, it isn't 23 floors. It's nine with a POSSIBILITY of 23 in a second phase.

  10. Sounds excellent to me. But I would still like to see a plan put in place to hire and keep more doctors.
  11. I heard a quick interview today saying the Shriners' architecture "reflects the overall design of the MUHC". It makes be wonder if there are other renderings hiding somewhere that shine a bit more light on the actual exterior design of the MUHC.
  12. Not sure if you guys have seen the numbers but supposedly 35 units are already sold.
  13. My idea: build this in conjunction with a light rail link to the South Shore. Have the light rail run from the ice breaking bridge or somewhere between the Champlain and Victoria bridges, up the Bonaventure "boulevard". This would not only do away with the patently ridiculous idea of developments on what amounts to a glorified median butit would also allow the light rail to have a DIRECT link to the heart of downtown. Heck, they're going to have all this unused space; why not make use of it right away? Things that would need to be done: - Multi story parking at the Panama terminus - Elimination of the bus lane on the Champlain (YESS!). It would also stop all this idiotic routing of buses onto side streets. - Widening the median of the Bonaventure "expressway" - NO left turns from the Bonaventure all the way up until it turns into University. That's the only way this administration will sell me on this whole idea.
  14. Those two structures will never happen. Zero access and even if they do somehow find a way to integrate some form of underground parking, any cars entering the buildings would cause an immediate traffic jam behind them. What I see is the Decarie service road. Anyone wanting to turn left will hit a red light the second they turn. Anyone turning right will hit a pedestrian wall. Both will cause traffic backlogs. The more I look at this, the less I like it.
  15. Oh, this thing is going to be absolute gridlock. And exiting and entering for the Ville Marie expressway on the left? Ugh.
  16. Hence why I said DEDICATED. Get rid of the skyscrapers that will never be built in the center and pop a two-way bus lane in there. And for the record, I maintain that this project will be a disaster.
  17. Wow are these folks cagey. They don't want to show any renderings of the exterior in case the NIMBYs are lurking. They also make it look like 10+ floors judging from the exterior pool rendering but we all know that won't happen...
  18. What is the total cost for the whole project though? I heard the number "3 billion" on the radio today. Also, why is it so hard to just incorporate the bus lanes into the boulevard? Why route the buses through small streets when the option exists to have a dedicated corridor on the new Bonaventure?

    Évolo 1 - 31 étages (2013)

Still two cranes for Zuni....at least there were on the weekend. I don't think Evolo has started sales yet. Also, not sure if anyone caught this but the Master Plan for Pointe Nord now has FIVE high rise condo towers listed instead of the original four.
