Je ne crois pas une seconde que la Caisse doit investir dans un nouveau stade. La raison est fort simple, la Caisse doit avoir un retour sur investissement donc ce qui signifie que la nouvelle franchise devra payer un loyer élevé pour rentabiliser l'investissement. Et si on parle de loyer élevé, cela signifie moins d'argent pour une masse salariale compétitif par rapport aux autres franchises du baseball majeur. C'était même pas un vrai stade c'était des structures temporaires et individuelles disposées en rond.

Ben c'est un peu beaucoup le but d'un stade temporaire, non ?

 

Ça devait être déconstruit tout de suite après l'Expo mais il a duré un peu plus longtemps à cause des Alouettes de Montréal et surtout pour faire plaisir à Yara qui rêvait d'y voir Pink FLoyd.

If it was such a bad investment, why would there be private interests trying to pull it off? It may not be a new Klondike, but I doubt we can call it objectively a "bad investment".

Non je pense que les deux gouvernements, fédéral et provincial, ont été bien clairs qu'ils ne subventionneraient pas un nouveau stade. S'ils décident toutefois de mettre de l'argent, ça devra être un investissement qui peut leur rapporter, comme une part des revenus des concessions.

It could be a good investment if the investor is knowlegble about the local economic culture, has deep pockets, and is passionate about baseball. That is not the profile of an immigrant investor.

To foist this off on someone whose real interest is to buy Canadian citizenship is, in my view, unlikely to result in long term success.
