  1. I would dearly love to see the won/loss record of Panzini...Projects approved/built vs Projects shelved!
  2. http://www.waldorfastoria.com/future-openings/ The W/A site still has Montreal on the calendar with the Grand Opening being 2013.
  3. Well said Maisonneuve!! As you stated this mentality unfortunate as it is will always exist because they can not see past their blue colored lenses. It just shocks me when I hear comments such as this. They will never get it!
  4. Malek, all you need is momentum. Had it been tied 2 aside the momentum would have been shifted to the English side and when you have even the shoddiest of defense and the HABS are an excellent example of it you begin to play over your heads which leads to upsets.
  5. 2010 World Cup Soccer has presented us with the worst officiating in years!! Incredible blatant calls. Every World Cup, they should adopt the Formula One rule. When ever there is a fowl, the officials with out disrupting the flow of the race, will investigate every incident and when there is a fowl, the team and/or driver will be penalized in laps, $$$ or disqualification. I do not see why World Cup doesn't follow this type of system. This way, the flow of the soccer game is not disrupted and be it 10 minutes, 20 minutes they can advise the officials on the field whether or not the goal is allowed or disallowed. Had they awarded England the goal, that would have changed the dynamic of the game completely!!
  6. Guys guys come on, granted Halak had a good season, not extraordinary but good. He was extraordinary in the 1st round of the play-offs had a great round against Pittsburgh and than was his normal self a little above average against the Flyers. The way I'm reading your rants, you make iy seem that Halak is the secong coming of Tretiak!! Come on, he's good but not that good. We in Montreal over evaluate our players. Halak does not have the same pedigree as Price. If you speak to all the GM's in the league, Price still carries the most potential and has major upside! DO you remember how pissed we were when Theodore was traded. Yes, he won all those trophies that year but never a cup! He's never been the same since. The Habs answered both important needs. Size up front, in a big centreman, who I might add is a 1st round pick and Ian Schultz, who comes with quite an impressive pedigree, big, strong and can throw punches. Check out some of his play in You Tube. He's actually knocked out a few players!! Lars has an excellent work ethic and Schultz was Captain with the Calgary Hitman. We have added two character players. Please do not forget, Halak was drafted late, somewhere in the 5 or 6th round. If I remember he demanded a trade during the season so his heart was not in Montreal. Price this year showed maturity and will carry it next season. Price had a so so season and his stats other than the won / loss department was comparable with that of Halak. Can you imagine when he's on his game. So everyone, take a chill pill, Halak wasn't the messiah just a good goaltender playing above his head. He's won nothing throughout his career, Price has won World Juniors and AHL championship!!!
  7. Philly fans are Philly fans, what can you say...they even booed Santa Clause for heaven's sake. Congrats to Chicago, you are truly deserved champions!!!! Just a thought... Jonathan Toews would look just amazing in a Habs jersey! Who knows, maybe one day...
  8. The Habs lost because of special teams, they only had one line going, Flyers had a better offensive distribution from all their lines and plecaneks continues to play like a little school girl! Gomez & Gionta were the best players on the ice yesterday! Oh well... time to cheer for my adoptive city THE HAWKS!!
  9. Montreal fans do make a difference! Apart from Chicago, there are no fans in their respective cities that can change the climate of a game like Montreal and Chicago!! This sending a message to the Habs players by the Flyers is so yesterday. Kudos to Maxime Lapierre if standing up against them. He distributed some solid checks out there. The 3rd line played a heck of a game. They were in my opinion, the 3 stars of yesterday's game. We need to raise the level of our game an extra notch on Saturday because this time the Flyers will be ready and waiting for it. Great game Habs!!
  10. I too am frustrated, but all it takes is an ugly goal and the chances will head our way. The Flyers in my opinion weren't better than us, they just capitalized on their limited scoring chances...sound familiar, it's the Canadiens in the two series against the Caps and Pens. Leighton simply outplayed Halak and the Flyers scored on Powerplay chances. The fact that the Habs are now playing against bruising Flyer defence is an adjustment for our small players. We had the chances but weren't lucky enough to get one past Leighton. There's only one thing that's bothering me and that's when the Flyers have the puck the Canadiens try to take it away; however, when the Canadiens have the puck, the Flyers try to ram them to the next hemisphere. I find the Canadiens a little to pacifistic, perhaps a bit scared against the flyers. Let's hope this changes at the Bell Centre.
  11. No! I too wish to see O'Byrne but Bergeron has his place on the 1st unit of the Power Play only!
  12. Pedepy...How can you say the better team of the two are the Flyers when the they both "snuck" into the series with 88 points? The Flyers had the offense but no goaltending, the Habs had the goaltending but no offense! This series will be close and the name of the game in the playoffs is that good goaltending will always stop a good offensive team. We saw it with the Caps and Penguins. The Flyers aren't Gretzky's Oilers and even the Oilers had great goaltending with Grant Fuhr. Michael Leighton is a journeyman who's been bounced from team to team and also had a cup of coffee with the Habs but he's no second coming of Bernie Parent. The Habs need to get back to what they were doing in the first two series, that is sound defensive hockey, playing man-to-man and pouncing on opportunities. We do not care about shots on goal as long as Halak stops them and as long as our defensive core stops them as well. The Flyers are on a 5 game winning streak, they are due for a loss. Now, having said all that, tonights game is crucial and could dictate the series, so this is a must win for the Habs, not the end of the world but you want to come back home with the series tied.
  13. Not to worry. Remember game 1 against the Penguins! This was to be expected. The Flyers are coming into this series with much adrenaline after upsetting the Bruins in 7 games. The Habs did not play since Wednesday, so a little rusty. Halak will rebound and the Habs as team will play to their capabilities.
  14. I love it!! I can just see it during the festivals, one who's had a little too much to drink or is smoking pot... These lamp posts will be chasing them until their all disintegrated! War of the Worlds
  15. I'm of Italian heritage and the Italians did fight in Leningrad and northern Africa as well as Belgium
  16. It all starts with Winnipeg, than a team in southern Ontario and than Quebec! The teams in Florida and Phoenix will be relocated. If Winnipeg gets the coyotes they will get a great up and coming team full of potential and they proved it this year.
  17. You are bang on Cataclaw! Both my grandfather's were in the war (WWII) Leningrad and Northern Africa and although it wasn't representative of their views at the time, they went on to fight and to protect us. I am soooo proud of them (God rest their souls) that it sickens me to no end when I see behavior from ignorant people such as these defacing a public a memorial monument. These twirps are juveniles and should be thought a lesson in history, than 1 yr of community service by removing all of the insane graffitti's that have plague are wonderful city of late. Hiding in the shadows of the night defacing public property is simply a juvenile act without any knowledge of the consequences.
  18. They kinda look like town homes you see in Bois Franc by what used to be a golf course.
  19. They kinda look like town homes you see in Bois Franc by what used to be a golf course.
  20. Montreal TAXI's should all be driving the Ford Flex, paint it Montreal blue with a touch of red or burgundy here and there and presto!
  21. Lots of chipiness out there with Crosby leading the charge! The Habs deserved better last night but it was Fleury's night who was due to play a strong game against nos glorieux! It's clear their game plan is to unsettle Gill and/or Gorges...we need to be a little more discipline.
