  1. Not in my lifetime!
  2. Well the fact that there's only 250,000 people every decade is definitely affecting our urban growth stature not to mention the political mumbo jumbo that's creeping up everyones skin like a bad case of hives doesn't help our growth either. No one in their right mind would want to invest when the political climate is uncertain itself.
  3. The whole Nine Yards and The Score were movies actually depicting Montreal as Montreal. The same could be said with Taking Lives.

    La boxe

Being Italian and a Montrealer, I idolized him especially his never say die attitude in the ring. He is a legend and will be sorely missed. They have arrested his 2nd wife as her stories recounting the events keeps changing. I'm still in shock!!! His fights with Ward (all 3 of them) are instant classics. I beleive one of their fights was named "Fight of the Year" If they are making a movie on Mickey Ward (Starring Wahlberg and Christian Bale) this year it won't be too long when Gatti's life (a rough one at that) will be posted on the silver screen as well. Vai con pace Arturo.
  5. The Hockey News hve no idea that here in Montreal you have to overpay big time in order to attract a free agent... sending their kids to french school, the heavy media coverage, the ridiculous taxes are not attractive for free agents and therefore we have no choice but to overpay.
  6. I like Moen alot. He's the type of player we needed and agitator if you will who will battle for his team mates and obviously drop the gloves every once and awhile and WIN fights and respect of his team mates. I loved him in Anaheim, a real shit disturber. The Laraque situation is scaring me a bit with his chronic back condition. This means Stewart will definitely make the team
  7. I could be wrong here but that does not include the 18% the Molsons already own, correct? If that's the case, we can add another 18% to the 633 and get a ball park figure. The Maple Leafs should be worth more with all their assets.
  8. WestAust, it doesn't get 1/4 the interest Worldwide the Toronto Film Festival does. I don't buy your argument. It's all fine and dandy with the organisers sodec and friends but at the end of the day it's all about visibility and Serge Losiques crap film festival gets very littel coverage.
  9. Why do we need to retire a jersey because this person has amassed numerous points. It isn't just about the points. For the past 2 yrs Ron Fournier and friends pushed for Emile "Butch" Bouchard to retire his number and you want to know something, I wouldn't be surprised if they did. I'm all for it. It's not all about the points Habsfan or the number of cups you've won.
  10. That's the problem, Montreal never is. They are too pacifistic in their approach. Why don't we do what Toronto is doing. It's obvious Toronto wants a Comedy Fest., Ubisoft, Stole our film festival etc etc...why don't we take what they cherish the most, The International Film Festival. We can have one here not that shit that's run by Serge Losique...I'm talking about a real film festival. We can have our own Sundance Film Festival as well and put one in Tremblant. We have the means, we just do not have the will. I can name sooo much more but I'm beginning to gag!
  11. The fans and media (especially the media) chased Koivu out of town. Bunch of dickheads!!!! Koivu in his press conference demonstrated so much class, he deserved so much better from Montreal. After all the shit he went through. I honestly beleive if his name was Tremblay they would have reserected a statue in his name for his perserverance. What a shame and that's my opinion!
  12. Here's a question that I have been asking since yesterday... Pronger is no longer with Anaheim dealt to the flyers, this means Beauchemin's value should have increased with Anaheim and yet not a single offer was made to him, why? Is he damaged goods? This is a rumour I'm hearing. But the fact that Anaheim have not negotiated with him speaks volumes. ...just playing devil's advocate here
  13. Beauchemin signing hurts big time! Do we know id=f Montreal offered him a contract because I haven't heard anything...nothing but rumours to the effect, he was injured. Did he refuse to play in Montreal? That's another possibility. Denis Gauthier is a poor substitute. He's a dirty selfish player...has a reputation of being a head hunter...who knows maybe we need this type of player here especially when playing against the Leafs, Bruins and Flyers.
  14. This is all nice, but before we get a race back in Montreal, we need to re-pave the track in its entirety. The asphalt solution they have used tears apart after several laps and we almost didn't have a race with all the complaints received by manufacturers and drivers. We need to get our act in gear with the track and come up with a better asphalt solution.
  15. Canada Day is not for everyone...
  16. Everyone.... the word on the streets is that Beauchemin could be injured and is the reason why no one has signed him up yet. I would not trade Andrei K. He has potential to score 35 - 40 goals. I wouldn't do it. Sergei, yes please trade him.
  17. One thing for sure, watching hockey next year will be fun when we play the leafs.
  18. Regardless if Bob dropped the ball, Komisarek's heart was no longer with the bleu-blanc-rouge. I sincerely believe that the Montreal Media was simply too much for him. YOu can't even fart in a bar without reading about it in tomorrows papers. In Toronto he's got Brian Burke and his no balls approach will scare off some of the paparazzi's
  19. Tanguays walking papers were signed when the habs played the bruins in the playoffs. He refused a cortisone shot at the consent of the team doctors who gave him the green light to do so and he didn't do it because he was a Free agent and what to test the market. Tanguay is not Bob Gainey's type of player nor 80% of the GM's out there. The guy has no heart, let him go.
