    If by official you mean "final", then no, we don't have the final renderings yet. We'll probably have those when the web site launches. In the meantime, the Panzini renderings are pretty much the latest official renderings, since Panzini is the architect.

    The hotel is the lower portion of the project. The tower itself consists of condominiums. So yes, this is a long term residence. Renderings are on the first page.

    Moi je bouclerais la ligne orange avec trois stations à Laval, au lieu de six. À moins que la ville de Laval veut se payer des stations de plus par ses propres moyens, trois c'est suffisant. En effet, il y a des quartiers à Montréal beaucoup plus denses et méritants.

    The "Building anything is too expensive" argument: Everything costs money. With that mentality nothing will ever get built, ever. The "Train tracks" argument: With that logic, why bother feeding the poor? There will always be more poor to feed.. we can't feed them all. We can't improve the area 100%, we can't remove the tracks, but we can remove the elevated expressway and improve things a heck of a lot! Lots of high density housing exists near train tracks, this will be no different.

    Iran to build world's first nuclear fusion reactor AEOI Director Ali Akbar Salehi made the announcement on Saturday at a ceremony held to mark the beginning of the National Nuclear Fusion Program. Iran has set an initial budget of 80 billion rials (about $7.65 million) for the project, and the budget will be adjusted based on the scope of the scientific studies to be carried out in the future, he said.     Build Absolutely Nothing Anywhere Near Anything Or in this case, Change Absolutely Nothing Anywhere Near Anything. That's all this is, really. People with a poor grasp of the issue creating a ruckus because they don't like change in their lives in any way shape or form, even if the change is unquestionably positive.

    The land freed up by the Big Dig should have been used for high-density development. Perhaps one park, maybe two, but not 100% of the land... I agree with gelu88. Restoring the urban fabric with development would have been the smarter choice.

    100% d'accord. C'est tellement du gaspillage... La station Saint-Laurent.. c'est effrayant. Il y en a tellement d'autres! Il faut promouvoir le TOD en ville et suivre l'exemple de Laval et Longueuil. Ironie!!

    Cyrus: il ne faut pas penser que tout le monde veut une maison unifamiliale, car ce n'est pas le cas. Il y a beaucoup de gens qui préfèrent vivre proche du centre ou de leur milieu d'emploi versus vivre dans une maison très loin de la ville. Les jeunes couples aiment beaucoup les condos, les personnes agées aussi. Je suis en couple et nous pensont au marriage et des enfants, et nous voulont quand même vivre proche du centre-ville. Une cour privée n'est pas requis pour bien des gens, même beaucoup qui pensent à avoir des enfants, comme nous!

    C'est un très bon point que tu soulignes là pedepy, et je suis partiellement d'accord. Selon moi, il faut avoir un équillibre entre les deux types de stations que tu mentionnes. Avant de prolonger encore à Laval, il faut prolonger à Montréal et même penser créer des nouvelles lignes dans et/ou proche du centre-ville. Une chose qu'il ne faut pas oublier... les stations avec stationnement incitatif ne désservent pas un bassin de population aussi large... mais... avec le T.O.D, la population autour de la station fini quand même par accroître.

    C'est précisement ce qu'on doit faire. Ce n'est pas compliqué. Si on se mettait à construire des autoroutes à gauche et à droit, on aurait un réseau fluide et une ville 50 fois plus éparpillée pour aller avec. Lorsqu'on augmente la capacité routière dans un milieu urbain, l'usage augmente aussi. Bref, c'est presque impossible d'atteindre un niveau de service "fluide" à moins de construire des routes de 10 voies partout... et même là... ça ne fonctionne pas très bien. Regardes Toronto et la 401 toujours bloquée. Compte tenu de ce fait, l'argument service/sécurité n'est pas valide puisqu'il n'est pas possible d'atteindre un niveau de service/sécurité 100%. On ajoute des voies sur la A-20. On est rendu à 8 voies total. Le service est mieux. La route est plus fluide. Plus de gens décident de prendre l'auto pour aller au travail. Plus de gens décident de vivre en banlieu éloignée puisque le chemin est plaisant et rapide. Il y a une augmentation rapide du nombre de voitures sur la route. La route devient congestionnée. La congestion est incroyable -- encore plus qu'au départ lorsqu'il n'y avait que 4 voies total! On décide d'ajouter des voies... on double encore de 8 total à 16 total. Le service est rétabli. Misère... le tout se répète. C'est pour ça qu'il faut y aller délicatement lorsqu'il est question d'augmenter la capacité routière! Il faut avoir un équillibre. Qu'on augmente le nombre de voies à 6 sur la A-20 pour l'instant, et d'ici 5-10 ans, si nécessaire, qu'on en ajoute d'autres. Mais une chose à la fois!
