S'il n'y a pas de rumeurs c'est qu'il n'y a pas d'argent. Et s'il n'y a pas d'argent il n'y a pas de projet. Et s'il n'y a pas de projet il y aura tôt ou tard des condos avec une multitude de petits parcs verdoyants.

I hope this is a joke. 

I grew up there and have walked/biked/driven on both sides many times. The area was, and still is, heavy industry built on severely polluted land. It might look nice while you are driving on your bike for fifteen minutes by the canal because of a hill they built as a sound barrier there, but where those computer generated buildings are on the south side of the canal, there is a working steel mill, cement factories, scrap yards, and other functioning heavy industry that supply jobs and are part of the patrimony. Beneath the ground are the remains of a coke processing plant, a dog food factory, an abandoned truck yard, as well as the run off of decades where polluted snow is still dumped to melt into the canal. And that empty square space between Canadian Tire and the fantasy housing? https://traceyarial.com/blog/en/toxic-waste-in-lasalle/ If someone was to spend millions to clean it up first, it would not eliminate the constant sound of cars from the highway that can be heard from as far away as Newman. 

This a fantasy created by someone using Google maps. Reality check: take a walk on Notre Dame from Dollard to Monk, then cross the bridge and walk back along St Patrick. Look at all the functioning factories where people work, listen to the never ending roar of the highway, the screech of trains, take in the smell of fumes, and wait till you get a smell of the canal during a dry spell in summer. Do it on a warm day without headphones, then tell me you still think residences are still a good idea. 

If it's a joke, it's pretty funny because of how absurd the idea is.
