  1. The small banners have been up for sometime. The V is new from this morning. It's huge, four stories tall! I certainly didn't roll my eyes at it.
  2. Calling all photographers, get over here now! You won't believe what they just did to the old facade, WOW!!!
  3. That's another project, which popped up here recently, but I don't remember the name.
  4. Can't be serious. Tear it down, decontaminate, and build houses over this no-man's-land. No one will miss it.
  5. Yes we heard them all day definitely tearing it down from the inside.
  6. I have to say I'm still not sure why the terminus had to be destroyed for the highway, but not 159 st-antoine, which is still there today.
  7. Don't think I've seen this shot before:
  8. pre-Emptiness, obviously. I'm guessing something train-related, but what?
  9. They're gonna need to put up a little fence around the grass. All those dog walkers will destroy that green in no time.
  10. Just curious -- what was in there before?
  11. Tupper, my old hood Gilbert: There's always this vacant spot, three buildings down from this old boarded-up crackhouse.
  12. They're putting up new banners on the building this morning! Here's the official website: http://levictoire.ca/
  13. Just trying to figure out something here. This is the view from Gauchetiere / Drummond, right? Does the base of the building stretch all the way to de la Montagne? Is there a possibility for a second tower on top of this?
  14. Why are the "dfsarch" and "lemaylab" designs so different? Which one will it be? Either way, that's gonna eat up part of the parking lot corner maisonneuve/montagne? fine by me!! In sort of related question, who owns the decrepit old building next to the Salvation Army citadel? On Drummond, and it stretches all the way to Stanley. Who was its last tenant? It's been shuttered for years.
  15. Doesn't really answer my question, but that's still really cool! Reminds me of Japan, wonder if existing technology already exists in Montreal.
  16. I'm curious to know about the parking involved with this building. How can they dig out 3-4 underground levels without causing damage to the existing structure? Or are they simply gonna tear it down and rebuild the facade brick-by-brick?
  17. If anyone's curious as to why the ETS had to dig under Notre-Dame rather than go ahead with its planned skywalk, here's why: http://coolopolis.blogspot.ca/2012/08/montreal-no-no-gets-built-dreaded.html I think I remember the ETS dean complaining about how they should have moved to Laval instead of downtown, because of this story.
  18. Someone should stop by their actual sales office higher up on de la montagne. I walked by Wednesday and there was a ton of action there. I think they're building a full demo unit (or two).
  19. That's Westmount Square on the left and the new MUHC on the right. The second crane from the left is new (the first being 1250 Greene) It's either the Redfern or the new arena... or something else? May go check it out tomorrow, apologies for the low zoom.
  20. I can only hope they had in mind to do something (similar) right across the street...
  21. At this point I believe it's still in the realm of speculation. Nothing official. But I must say I've been looking at the first floor layout and there seems to be too many concrete divisions to efficiently host a large surface retailer. Who knows!
  22. A new Burrito restaurant is opening up in front of the seville! In between the church and the anime place. Let's hope for more commercial development!
  23. Second crane is up. I call it Stubby McStubbs.
