    Ce projet est un peu passer sous le radar de mtlurb on dirait. Vu de près le bâtiment est très imposant, et semble être de bonne qualité. Son impact sur le secteur sera considérable... Recrudescence du Resto Magnan à l'horizon? Chose certaine, les gens vont se bousculer pour des patchs de gazon le long du canal cet été ! J'ai hâte d'asssister à ça.

    Not sure where else to post this but I was wondering if anyone here heard about the fire in Pointe-Saint-Charles? Crazy intense ! When I got home centre street was still closed off. Building was on centre & ropery, in the final stages of a condo conversion and was looking quite nice. Too bad. Building literally disintegrated. They had been doing renovations for quite a while on it. Google Street View Kinda wish I had seen it with my own eyes.. fire was so strong it caused two cars to explode. :hyper: Edit: video

    Merci pour les pics ! J'adore ce projet. Faut croire qu'avec le Walter, Myst, Nordelec et leurs confrères côté nord (Bassins, le Canal), Saint-Patrick deviendra sous peu l'un des artères les plus congestionnés de l'île de Montréal. J'espère que l'arrondissement a quelquechose de prévu à cet effet !

    Lol they've already been ''re-upholstered'' as part of a rock-climbing center. (though you don't climb up them). Besides, how would one go about safely demolishing these? Serious question, I'm pretty curious given than it's a big drum made of cement and it's smack in the middle of a highly populated area.

    Je l'ai mentionné dans un autre thread. Moi aussi j'étais surpris, d'ailleurs je pensais que çe batiment allait être conserver à des fins d'activités communautaires. Le champ de containers multicolores est maintenant à découvert. C'est interessant comme look.

    J'ai remarqué cette semaine qu'ils ont démoli les immeubles délabrées au coin de la rue Bridge et Wellington. Je crois que ce terrain appartient au groupe Mach.

    Je trouve qu'elles partagent certaines similarités au niveau architectural. Au fait le Marriott est comme une version ''haut de gamme'' du Hilton avec la vitre qui viens remplacer le béton. J'ai quand même un petit faible pour le Garden inn, le premier gros projet de la ''nouvelle vague'' au centre-ville

    Thanks for sharing the article Mark_ac. I don't understand how people can say you're ''de mauvaise foi'' when you post regularly on this forum and clearly want to see Montreal succeed. Sérieux, il y a des gens un peu trop sensible dans ce forum. N'importe quelle grande ville métropolitaine aura ça dose de mauvaise nouvelle. C'est idiot de s'attaquer a Mark ou a the Gazette simplement parce qu'ils on un ton négatif. Allez sur UrbanToronto.ca... Ils ''chient'' pas mal souvent sur leur ville. Ce n'est pas pcq ils la détestent, mais plutôt pcq ils l'aiment et veulent en être fiers.

Montreal, known for its crumbling water pipes and bridges as much as its cobblestone streets, now stands out for drawing the biggest share of foreign owners. They purchased 49 percent of the 206 homes worth at least C$1 million in the first half of 2013, according to a Sotheby’s International Realty Canada report and survey of brokers. In Vancouver, which boasts a rugged Pacific coastline and cultural ties to Asia, 40 percent of buyers of 1,239 such homes were from abroad. Toronto, which has filled its skyline with condo towers over the last decade, had the smallest portion of international owners, making up 25 percent of 2,947 deals. “The share of foreign buying in the Montreal luxury market surprises me,” said Craig Alexander, chief economist at Toronto-Dominion Bank. Dwellings of at least 3,000 square feet worth about C$2.47 million in the Westmount area gained 16.9 percent in the same period. In Vancouver and Toronto, price growth of luxury housing in some neighborhoods also outpaced less costly homes, the data show. Julie Dickson, who heads the Ottawa-based Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions, said scant data makes it difficult to determine the impact of foreign buyers on the market. “There is anecdotal evidence at a minimum that foreign investment plays a big role, particularly in Vancouver. And while I think that means Canada is a great place to do business, it also is a risk because it can dry up quickly,” Dickson said during a Nov. 25 presentation in Toronto. Full article ici.

    That thruway is truly impressive - it works incredibly well. When I was in New York I was a bit ashamed at how poorly on-island navigation was in Montreal, by comparison. Like it says in the video... 6 red light.

    Merci pour les photos! Je peux confirmer qu'ils travaillent fort sur ce chantier. Même le soir il y a du mouvement - probablement la rénovation des parties éxistantes de l'immeuble. C'est vraiment une opération à grande échelle - d'autant plus que le bâtisseur (Magil) travaille simultanément sur le Myst, situé à un coin de rue.
