I think this is one of the most interesting buildings (along with the new planetarium) under development in Montreal right now.

Ayoye. What an eyesore. Hopefully, it will get better some day with another project......

I think the city expects the businesses along Clark (St-Laurent) to renovate & open up onto Esplanade Clark (à la Maison du Jazz).

 

As you saw from the picture, there is quite a lot of work for them to do and will require quite an investment, but the rewards could make it worth it. If cafés, bars, clubs and restaurants open, they stand to gain, but this phase of the QDS project (along with the skating rink) is only supposed to be completed in 2012, so I don't expect these private owners to invest any money untill they can be sure of the rewards. Maybe they will wait to see if the city will offer grants to pay for part of the work.

 

I suppose a brand new project encompassing the whole block is another option, but I can already hear the protests about saving the Main...

Semaine du 20 juin

 

Tout en finalisant la couverture des murs extérieurs, c’est l’intérieur qui prend place au sein du 2-22. Voici une montée des étages en photos et surtout, en avant première, les vues des différents étages…

La ventilation est en pleine installation

 

 

Au quatrième étage, les structures sont un peu plus élevées ce qui donne un plus grand sentiment d'espace.

J'aime bien l'effet des fenêtres positionnées "au hasard" ça rend cet édifice exclusif.
