For the love of god can we not repeat the Maisonneuve bike lane non-sense again? If you're going to insert a bike lane on RL make it going east and change the Maisonneuve one to west only and while you're at it put it on the correct side of the street.

As for the REM itself, the catenaires are much nicer but those support beams might be aesthetically pleasing but that's a lot more concrete, but hey that's what you get when you're chief complaint is atheistics.

The stations are significantly nicer than for REM-A

Caténaire en bonnet de soeur de Jeanne Mance.  Signature.

Anyways, it's better than many other urban train project in aesthetics, but still not tube-like architectural inspirations that were shown.  The stations in bronze are way nicer.

Its gonna be crazy awful on René-Lévesque. The whole boulevard will disappear and become a park under a huge concrete structure with bike path. The benches in front of Maison du Père in the second to last pic (wtf!!) will be littered with homeless people. And the station at Saint-Urbain is giving me shivers. The structure is gonna be huge. Its literally a Met downtown. CRAZY.

Maison du Père is for homeless people in the first place...

How can we fathom eliminating 4 lanes of traffic on one of the city's main thoroughfares? The impact on traffic will be disastrous. The more we focus on the architectural elements and urban integration of this project, the further away we get from (what I see as) one of the main issues with this project: we are allowing the private sector to completely disfigure a significant portion of our downtown core without any reliable data showing that it will improve mobility or reduce greenhouse gas emissions (and I would argue that even if it were to achieve those goals in any meaningful way, a 20m high concrete structure passing through downtown is hardly an acceptable reality).

Because it was one of the recommendations from the report after the city pressured/floated the idea of redoing the whole of RL.

PM is only interested in copying European best practices/examples instead of developing new one adapted to our realities.

REV, wanting to transform parc Lafontaine into a version of Jardin du Luxembourg from Paris. Rosemont-Petite-Patrie idea of creating super blocs by closing arteries so you'd drive around in circle, pulled directly from Barcelona.
