Très honnêtement, ça n'existe pas des projet d'infrastructure sans délai. Même les projets gold standard en ont. c'est normal. Faudrait juste que les annonces politiques soient plus honnêtes par rapport aux contingences et au délais estimés.

Je crois que c'est assez évident pourquoi des batons de dynamite cachés on causé un problème majeur. Il faut sonder le rock partout pour les trouver, et ensuite il faut les enlever de façon sécuritaire...ya des standards très strict de sécurité publique pour ces choses là, et c'est un point positif. Mieux vaut un ti délai qu'une hécatombe.

Je suis désolé de dire ça, mais je trouve que mes co-citoyens ont souvent mauvaise foi envers les projet d'infrastructures. Il faut un peu qu'on diminue le reflexe de faire les gérants d'estrades tout le temps. J'ai déjà eu le non-plaisir de faire un projet au milieu d'un chantier de travaux routiers majeurs en coeur de centre-ville, et crois moi, c'est mille fois plus compliqué qu'on peut le penser. 

Je comprends qu'on est traumatisés au Québec par des décénies de corruption, de mauvais projets et d'un système d'appel d'offres inefficace. Donc, je comprends pourquoi on a ce reflèxe.

C'est super bon de rester critiques et de questionner nos instances publiques, mais des fois il faut chercher a comprendre un peu mieux et célébrer nos bons coups...

The OC Transpo LRT is now mostly running half trains, every now and again they will double up. The principal reason was the savings on maintenance, while accepting the odd train will be overpacked, the cost of running full train only in a deficit riddled, lower user volume transit system like ours was too onerous!

Wrong. Theses are based on the European automatic train couplers which are designed specifically to be able to connect without any humain intervention. Theses couplers supply everything that is needed by the train. They have power, air, data connections. Europe is looking to fully replace the current connectors that they have with those. That includes merchandise trains which still use traditional screw couplers which are way more labor intensive than the North American Janney couplers. The European automatic train couplers are fully protected from the environment when not in use.

The one disadvantage of that coupler is that they aren't quite as robust as the Janney coupler which is mostly an issue for the 3-4 kilometer long trains that North American freight companies like to run. In practice, this will allow Europe to fully automate train yards within the next decade or two. While running long trains makes North American freight companies extremely efficient when compared to other freight compagnies world wide, the possibility of fully automating train yards could see North American freight companies losing that crown in the foreseeable future unless they innovate. Things like this are why North America is slowly getting worse in terms of productivity when compared to the rest of the planet. We aren't taking automation seriously enough and aren't putting enough effort into automating things that can be automated.

You guys can nitpick and complain all you want, but we have our first phase (16.6km) up and running after only 5 years of construction with a 99% service reliability rate. Meanwhile in Toronto... Eglinton Line 5 is a 19km project, under construction since 2011 and now nearing $13 billion (up from the original $5 billion budget) and as of yesterday, officially delayed indefinitely😂  If things keep going the way they are, Montreal will have ~60km of light metro rapid transit built in half the time it took Toronto to build a 19km tram line.

CDPQi. Our Blue Line will take forever and is built by the governement. REM de l'Est is overtaken by the government and will take forever. Same old. Who in his right mind thinks the blue line will open in 2030?

If someone has a Wayback Machine slice of stm.info from a year or so ago, I don't believe the "Train Control System" page mentioned more detailed timelines before, or Blue line service cuts in "late evenings or weekends" beginning in 2026.
