I don't know why but I am really on the fence about the architecture on this project. On one hand the contrast could be very interesting but the massive slabs of black could look overly imposing and generally tacky when paired up with stark white.

L'architecture de ce projet avec ses petites fenêtres et panneaux de béton alors que la tendance va vers du verre mur-à-mur est franchement à vomir. Une disgrâce pour un nouveau quartier en 2012.

I have a feeling these towers are going to age very badly, they almost verge on 'commie block' designs. Its especially sad when you look at some of the designs first proposed.

I think there are two main issues influencing design at this point: the ridiculous 20 floor height limit and a general lack of funds. You can't apply all that much in terms of architectural interest when the majority of units are going for under $350K.

Its nice the city has taken an interest in social housing, too bad they decided to place it next to one of the primary gateways to downtown.
