The renderings for QUAD Windsor show 4 buildings, at least two of which appear taller than 120m (in the 150m range). Since there is no designated height limit between 120m and 210m in the PPU, I'm guessing the city has simply ammended the PPU to approve the buildings as proposed, nothing more.

It would make a whole.Lotta sense to let buildings extend to the 200+ range in this area at the foot of Mountain and Peel streets.

That part of town with ETS polytechnic and Griffintown could benefit from added density.

Le rendu plus haut compte 55 étages. À 3,8 mètres par étage, on serait à 209 mètres, ce qui constituerait la limite ultime.

Quelle aberration d'avoir des secteurs inchangés à 25, 65 et 80 m immédiatement adjacents à du 210 m... Manque de vision de redensification du bâti actuel...

 

C'est clair que des modifs à la hausse au plan directeur dans un plus grand nombre de secteurs du centre-ville pourraient encourager la spéculation vers la conversion / démolition de petits immeubles pour densifier ses abords immédiats.

 

PPU Des Gares, le lobbying pour un stade de baseball, nouveau boulevard bonaventure, Griffintown, nouveau pont Champlain, SLR, le virage techno de la ville, nouvelle ste-catherine, Heure prolongée des magasins peut-être... Et finalement le 375e

 

Wow on peut dire que Montréal est bel et bien en feu. Il n'y a jamais eu autant de changement depuis Drapeau !

 

En feu, mais on ne sort pas de décennies de relatif immobilier simplement en criant "Gare!"

Hopefully they'll have enough patience to wait till the market get flared up again, and then build more boldly, both architecturally, and height-wise!

Strong rumours from a source very close to the project that a new Hilton is incorporated to one of the phases. This would explain them closing the Bonaventure hilton.

 

Has anybody else heard the same?

 

The hotel part is settled , but I can not confirm that is Hilton. Will get info if possible and transmit to the forum .
