loulou123
jesseps
I saw it a few days ago. When they were stocking up on everything. Seems like a really nice SAQ Express. Way larger then the other one on St Catherines. One thing I noticed. We have so many SAQ's downtown. Shit we must be alcoholics lol
WestAust
Je suis allé a la nouvelle SAQ Selection au Quartier Dix30, et wow, toute une amélioration, elle est superbe coté design Jesseps: they are closing the one near Peel, the one at Cours Mont-Royal as well, so not that many SAQ
Kilgore Trout
Why 10pm? 11pm would make so much more sense. I don't understand why alcohol sales at deps are prohibited after 11pm, either. Is it to protect the bars? If that's the case, it's kind of absurd. Supermarkets can't stay fully open after 9pm to protect the depanneurs, depanneurs can't sell alcohol after 11pm to protect the bars, bars can't stay open after 3am to protect... who knows. If Alberta has one advantage over Quebec, it's that liquor stores are allowed to stay open until last call.
Administrator mtlurb Posted December 13, 2007 Administrator Share Posted December 13, 2007 its to protect the bar/resto industry and i think its perfect like that... pushes people to go out
Habsfan
BY the way, i don,t remember where I heard this, but somebody told me that the city is considering letting bars stay open until 5AM. They would still stop serving alcohol at 3Am, however they would stay open until 5 or 6 AM. I don't know if there's any truth to this, but i find it interesting! Administrator mtlurb Posted December 13, 2007 Administrator Share Posted December 13, 2007 Its something some bars want. A bar like that started operating like that, alcohol till 3am, open till 10am, but it was shut down pretty quickly.

There are 4-5 SAQ Express just on St Catherine, which includes the new one. Which spans from Atwater to University. True it is pretty nice walk. OursNoir
@habsfan: Bars aren't required to close at 3am by law, they just have to stop serving alcohol... But for a bar tenant, staying open without alcool would be stupid as he have no more income! That's why they all close around 3am
