Thursdays is on Crescent. Shouldn't affect the demolition on de la Montagne.

Thursdays goes from demolition to redesign

Change of plans means Crescent St. bistro/pub set to reopen in January

Although this is good news for Thursdays, sounds like the rethink may also mean that there is a possibilty that all or part of the project is on hold or scaled back dramatically. As for the empty lot, I think that was supposed to be a secondary entrance for vehicules.

And the demolition of the building on de la Montagne might just be a way to pay less municipal taxes until they are ready to build. In any case they won't start construction until they sell enough residential units in the project.

Clearly, the Ogilvy's project as described in this thread is canceled and dead. They sold back the properties on Crescent, they won't be buying it back in a couple years to go ahead, that's for sure.

But there is another project going on: a minor derogation was asked concerning "le nombre d'unités de chargement exigé d'un bâtiment projeté au 1440, rue De la Montagne". The project mentions building a 21 story tower with a 4 story base, the first 11 being an hotel and the top floors being residential.

This describe exactly the current hotel. But they mentioned "erecting a new tower". The question is:

- will they destroy and rebuild l'hotel de la Montagne?

- will they only renovate it? (no new tower)

- will they build a new tower in the parking north of the current hotel and "merge" the two buildings?

I can't wait to hear more details about this project.

Oh man, I hope we won't be looking at an empty carcass for years... getting some bad Sheraton vibes.
