Personally I don't know why people go crazy over the Lachine canal, the thing is nothing more than a smelly swamp,however I must say Griffintown is a great place to build and considering it's limited size we're wasting valuable land by allowing these ugly 8 storey projects, I would of love to see Cadillac Fairview build their twin 44 storey towers in that area

 

It's far from being a smelly swamp like you describe it, why people want to go there, because you're right on the bike path that allows you to go for a nice ride on weekends, you're close to downtown but not smack in the middle, same for old montreal, close to atwater market which is better than most grocery stores in the area + the whole south-west neighborhood is starting to see more and more new restaurants and shops opening, all within 15 min car or bike ride!

 

And the projects are not all 8 story high, les bassins will have towers of 20 floors that will be built, they are simply starting with the smaller ones

yeah but you only mentioned the north side of the canal cross over to the south side and tell me what's there along St. Patrick? and how about going for a swim in that toxic soup ?

Très beau projet, dans le même genre que je proposais dans mes fils sur Copenhage et MalMö.

J'ai appris en téléphonant que la phase 2 (quai 2) va être mise en vente en septembre, mais le système de réservation va être différent car ils ne veulent plus que les gens passent la nuit dehors pour se mettre en ligne. Il semble que le lancement va être fait sur l'internet et ceux qui sont sur la liste d'envoi vont être prévenus par courriel tous en même temps; ils devront alors contacter immédiatement le bureau pour pouvoir réserver rapidement et avoir un bon choix. Prével est victime de son succès !

J'ai hâte de voir ce projet se réaliser, si il est aussi beau que sur les évocations, ce sera un grand plus pour Montréal et tout particulièrement la zone du canal Lachine

Oui en effet. C'est un trait de ce projet. Et un beau lien qui est fait avec le fleuve si près (mais pendant longtemps si loin aussi! C'est de moins en moins le cas, et tant mieux!).
