Bon ils se sont réveillés enfin! Un projet mixte est parfait pour cet endroit. La mixité avec condos et hotel améliore les chances de voir ce projet se concrétiser.

 

Absolument. PCQ 900,000p² de bureau aurait été prèsqu'impossible à remplir. Avec la composante Condo/hotel, les chances de voir se projet monter sont meilleures.

what is this "call for bidders" mean anyway ? at first i thought it meant they were looking for companies to being construction but when you read it a second time it sounds more like they are looking for someone to design a building for them, with very loose specifications ... the renderings they made available so far don't go up to 40 storeys afterall ?

Call for bidders is an invitation for the contractor to built according to the design. That is how it is traditional. Usually the plans + specification are done, the site already chosen, and the contractor will go get those drawings and enter a bid for the project. Eventually one of the bids will be chosen.

MONTREAL - Canderel’s Phillips Square site, long promoted as the future location of a gleaming 900,000 square foot LEED certified office tower is up for sale, The Gazette has learned.

 

Eager to capitalize on growing demand for buildable land downtown, a Canderel executive said the company wants to sell because it’s already busy with an office project in the Quartier des spectacles, along with plans for a new, soon-to-be-announced residential development.

 

“Having three (projects) in the same city at the same time was a little too much,” said Daniel Peritz, Canderel’s senior vice-president, Montreal and Ottawa.

Oui, j'ai bien hâte de connaître le site de ce projet résidentiel à venir !!!! Aura Montréal ? Ça serait extraordinaire dans tous les sens du mot !!!!

 

I emailed the Gazette writer, she believes somebody will buy the land... and if the zoning can be changed, this could become an interesting real estate project in terms of residential development.

 

En effet, ce site ne restera pas longtemps sur le marché selon moi.
