  1. Maybe this is an attempt by the MUHC to get additional funding so that the Glen can be enlarged.

That's where the Board of Governors is planning on hiding the real reason for Judith Woodsworth's "resignation".
  3. From today's Gazette: http://communities.canada.com/montrealgazette/blogs/realdeal/archive/2011/01/04/canvar-to-build-downtown-marriott.aspx Sources tell me Groupe Canvar Inc. will soon announce plans for a major hotel and residential project on René Levésque Blvd., between Anderson and Bleury Sts. The 40 storey project - to be built on what's currently a nearly 44,000 square foot parking lot - is to feature an 11-storey Marriott Hotel with about 220 rooms, Ville Marie borough records and industry sources say. The project, to be located on what the borough calls "the most important piece of vacant land in the business district" will also include about 200 residential units - although the number could vary slightly depending on demand. The residential component would comprise mostly condos, but also include some three-storey townhouses on the South side of the project. Ville Marie approved the project in October, records show. Unfortunately, such behavior desensitizes people to hearing such things. Someday someone could be attacked and screaming and people will ignore it, thinking it is this crazy person. (Sorry, mentally challanged person)
  6. The cranes boss, the cranes!!! http://assets.muhc.ca/misc/display4.htm
  7. My, that sounds like a lot of disruption for Mr. Trent and some of his Westmount constituents. Not to mention those who feel the whole project is a waste of money and that the century old Royal Victoria Hospital is just fine as it is. Hopefully this thing has enough momentum that these naysayers will be minor echoes amid the construction din. Looking forward to touring the complex in 2014!
  8. I just found it interesting that the contestant who correctly answered it was a McGill student. It was like a freebie for her.
  9. Note that the Trudeau item was worth $1000, the highest value on the board, meaning it was the most difficult item, least likely to be known.
  10. She didn't mispronounce Montreal, it is the American pronunciation of the city's name, eh!
  11. Alex Trebek is a graduate of University of Ottawa and is bilingual so he would likely know the correct French pronunciation of Levesque.
  12. No wonder she knew where Trudeau Airport is, Ariel is a student at McGill University!!!! She is an American from Indiana. http://www.wlfi.com/dpp/news/local/West-Lafayette-native-wins-second-round-of-Jeopardy

It seems that Concordia students want a nice student union building but they don't want to pay for it.

But the mentally ill have rights and cannot be forced to enter or remain in treatment, unless they have already physically harmed someone.
  15. Celebration, Florida is not, nor has it ever been, a gated community.
  16. What makes the Port Royal stand out from other highrises downtown is the lack of balconies. Balconied buildings, from that era at least, look like crap.
  17. When I was in high school in the US (late 1960's) the only languages my school taught were French and Latin. Now the only language they teach is Spanish.
