Je ne crois pas que ce soit très grave...les étudiants ne resteront pas très longtemps dans ces apprts. (3 ans en moyenne)

 

Actually, over 95% of our students living in residence are first year students. In other words, most people living in that building will live there for 8 months, from September to April.

Je ne crois pas que le principal critère de choix de location d'un apartment pour un étudiant moyen soit la ''vue''. En autant qu'il ait 4 murs et un frigo, pour le reste il est bien trop préoccupé par ses updates de statuts sur Facebook et sortir faire le ''partay''.. lol

C'est une belle caricature, mais effectivement, pour un étudiant, si tu as une vue, ce n'est qu'un bonus.

Certains vont payer un premium pour avoir la vue sur l'usine de Molson.

Folks do you want a Manhattan like skyline or do you want a Tulsa skyline...you just cannot have it both ways. Everyone gawks and squeals with glee at the NYC or Hong Kong skylines but if that is what you want there is not much space left for views of nature. The views are of neighboring buildings. SO yes, the Peterson combined with the 2144 Bleury and the 400 Sherbrooke will make for a massive block but so will the Altitude and the 35 Storey Union building along with the shorter highrises around them. That is densification!! So let's be happy when construction projects are started, let's encourage great design so that when you look outside the 40th storey of the Icone tower you see beautiful architecture all around !!!

I think most of us here can agree we want and need more density. I'm also quite confident city regulations will prevent ''overdensification'' from being even remotely possible. IMO anything downtown between gauchetière and sherbrooke is fair game. Go Peterson!

J'inclurais pour la limite sud la rue Saint-Jacques à l'ouest de McGill pour la densification.
