Bah sincèrement, depuis que GDS nous a appris que CF était donateur et qu'"étonnamment", HM donne leur appui au projet alors qu'ils étaient contre le 1475 René-Lévesque...

Je partirais volontier un organisme parrallèle, par contre, qui oeuvrant pour une conservation du patrimoine architectural tout en favorisant le développement.

That blachford plant is closed?!?! thank God, what a disgusting place, it smelled like hell.

 

Hopefully they can get the smell out of those walls and make something out of it.

 

What did they make there? Sure it was the industrial emissions and not those of the queteux at the nearby metro station?

What they do there is really obscure. I tried finding a website, but the information was flimsy and in english only. Which hints at how much they care about their current location.

 

Yes the emissions were from the plant, but their workers looked as much bum as the queteux. The only difference is their industrial costume.

 

I pass there every morning, and I'm happy that the smell will be gone.

November, 2009: Blachford announces closure of its Montreal Plant

H. L. Blachford Ltd. has announced the closure of its Montreal, Quebec chemical manufacturing facility in the 4th quarter of 2010 as part of a restructuring plan. Some of the 26 affected employees will be relocated to the Mississauga manufacturing facility. "The closure of our Montreal facility allows us to consolidate Research & Development as well as manufacturing capabilities, thus providing a stronger foundation to the business," said John Blachford, President and Owner. The company will continue to manufacture the majority of its Chemical Specialty products at its other facilities.

Apparently all kinds of chemicals...yuck...with tonnes of non-degradable waste. Heading to Ontario !!! Great this location is opening up for development. Wait and see!!

Une idée très attrayante. J'aimerais ça, un HM plus centriste et moins dogmatique, mais passionné par le patrimoine. J'embarquerais.
