  1. Thank you very much. Its going to be a traffic nightmare around the area in a years time. This map could even be enlarged a big to include the Deloitte Tower.
  2. Is there a map or diagram of the entire block that shows how much land L'Avenue and Roccabella take up and how close together they are?
  3. The Ville-Marie really was the worst thing to happen to Montreal...The density of this area is stunning compared to the wasteland it became thanks to the tunnel plowing through it.
  4. The building looks great, can't wait to see the finished product! I'm just wondering if the city plans to do something about the power lines so close to the building, it seems like it might be dangerous for people standing on their balconies or maybe even electronic interference with their household appliances. Even if i'm wrong from a technical standpoint, it would just look better from an aesthetic standpoint if the lines were buried underground.
  5. I would REALLY like to know who's decision it was to cover the bottom in red brick. It looks absolutely terrible and cheapens the whole design.
  6. Although I love the density and the positive effect it will have on the whole area, I'm not crazy about the building design or that two mediocre looking houses will be squeezed into the project for supposed heritage value.
  7. Can this get moved to Approved? Obviously the construction process has started...
  8. I second that, anything to get those terrible old buildings torn down and plus it does seem like a logical compromise....then again when does logic ever come into real estate?
  9. I love how all these projects get announced and then immediately after a sales office is built, it used to be a project gets announced and then was never heard from again. I guess it really is a new era in Montreal real estate.
  10. I was very disappointed with what ended up getting built on the lot after Ben's was demolished. the 900 de Maisonneuve project looked 10x better than the hotel that ended up being built.
  11. Man, Wanda's pisses me off! I hope there's a little construction "accident" and some debris happens to fall through the place (when no one is there of course). Massive, beautiful project with a strip club tacked on...
  12. I hate to beat a dead horse but seriously, who wants to live in a place attached to a major sports arena and a train station? I for one would find it way too busy, a block away sure, but literally on the same lot? I don't think so...
  13. Great project, modern, high-quality design and really contributes to the densification of the area. But why does the thread title say 12 floors when the images show the tower is 16?
  14. Maybe these screen caps I took from the video could be used until some more official renders come out...
  15. Shouldn't the thread title read 8, 12, 12, 14 to accurately represent the four phases?
  16. I found this video posted on the skyscraperpage.com forum, all I can say is WOW, what an incredible improvement from the old render. This should become a landmark project for the area.
  17. Where is this project located in relation to the "Le Canal" development? And is this actually going to be built, I haven't seen any details or a sales office and its already been two years since it was announced...
  18. New render shown in a Gazette ad today...
  19. I'm sure there will be plenty of buyers after Icone, Roccabella, Le Pederson and others have had a four month head start...
  20. http://www.belcourtcondos.com/properties/flex-condos-en-US/ A new project on Bishop street by Belcourt. I didn't see a topic for it, feel free to delete if there is.
  21. Does anyone have an idea of when they will announce the actual project, with a real name other than "ilot overdale"?
  22. I really like this tower actually, It really stands out from Windsor Station and the Bell Centre and presents a modern, clean design that you don't see a lot in Montreal. As for being isolated, all you have to do is walk across the courtyard and you're on La Gauchetiere. And who know like others have said, maybe it will revive that part of St. Antoine which desperately needs improvements and new construction, which could start right on the other side of the street which I believe is owned by Cadillac-Fairview.
  23. I've been waiting for the city to start work on Place du Canada forever. With how amazing Dorchester Square turned out, I've been eager to see what they can do with the other side - especially the big circular pond in the renderings and the straightening out of La Gauchetiere to enlarge the park. Is there any official reason for the delay?
  24. The Icone towers really do put the Roccabella project to shame, with them directly competing for buyers, and getting the later start they're going to have to really up their game.
  25. Is there any chance at all that Wanda's takes an offer and moves? It'll really be a shame if they build this massive project and then have a strip club tacked on to it...
