  1. I don’t think we should make that comparison. They are not at all at the same level. The Central could have been something great - it’s not. Totally missed the point with it’s layout and it’s integration with both St Laurent and Ste Catherine.
  2. IMO there should be a surtax on all gas purchases in the Greater Mtl area to fund a continuous expansion of the metro/REM/tramway systems.
  3. IMO the best thing would be for The Four Seasons to purchase and connect the hotel via an escalator to the bar and to Crescent.
  4. IMO before we do anything: 1- we need to connect the two 15’s without going on the 40; 2- then, we need to go underground the whole length of the elevated, with maybe 2 exits; and 3- an urban boulevard above the tunnel to act as collector lanes, public transit, etc
  5. I could understand the height, historical, and/or the architectural issues, but I certainly cannot agree with the keeping the parking argument.
  6. It seems like restaurant Beatrice will lose it’s annex - the best part of the restaurant.
  7. We've got to stop thinking small. If we truly want a real window to the river then that is what needs to be done. Besides, the port's future is down the river in Contrecoeur.
  8. It might be cheaper to have a pedestrian tunnel with moving sidewalks from the airport REM station to the train station than extending the REM.
  9. Wouldn't it make more sense to front load the number of units built in order to make it more viable for schools and other services required for a residential community?
  10. I was thinking more along the manner in which it is in Chicago. They elevated the whole streetscape above and over the tracks bringing the sidewalk to the edge of the river.
  11. Your boardwalk is already elevated. Why not elevate it further so that it covers the trains and brings it closer to the river?
  12. There are certain population clusters and corridors like Boston/NYC/DC, Mtl/Ott/TO, California, etc,...where the TGV is not only practical but also economically viable.
  13. Well done. I am impressed with how the Ailes de la Mode space is turning out.
  14. Really horrible job of integrating with the mall
  15. How do you define population of a city. A few examples: 1- When the island of Montreal was fused and then defused - which one is it? 2- Calgary and Edmonton city proper go on forever - what is city, what is suburb? 3- Chicago IMO is a much larger city than Toronto - yet if you look at city proper Toronto might be larger because of the Toronto fusions. It seems to me, although not perfect, the only way is to look at the greater city area
  16. Does it include the Medical Arts building at the SE corner of Sherbrooke and Guy?

If the autoroute could be a tunnel under the Peel Basin it would do wonders for the whole area surrounding the bassin.
  18. The city should have never allowed this project to go forward without addressing the blank wall.
  19. They should paint the concrete black. Just like the Monville.
  20. It would not have changed the surface - only above and would have made a better scene than the clank wall.
  21. I was only referring to the additional floors above what is being built. They could have sold the air rights.
