  1. The Concordia building needs a new covering. An architectural competition should be launched for something out of this world. This has the potential of making de Maisonneuve a true pole between the de la Montagne and Guy and the Guy intersection our mini Times Square.
  2. Question: Is it feasible to add an additional floor on the existing building. If it is possible, I would see an airy, very high ceilinged, columness addition supported along the perimeter.
  3. IMO it would look so much better if they painted thew concrete black like the Monville.
  4. I am hoping that some of the ground floor spaces will contain cafés, restaurants, markets, etc
  5. What an ugly backdrop. They've got to do something to hide the blind wall and the bland hospital looking police headquarters
  6. Not like rendering - corners were cut
  7. From a very reliable construction firm although not involved with the project.
  8. I heard it's over for Royalmount. Can anyone confirm.
  9. We need design at this level along the Lachine Canal!

    555 René-Lévesque

IMO, both 555 and 505 next door should be demolished and replaced with 50/60 story mixed use buildings worthy of the street.
  11. Actually not bad. I would just hope that all commercial spaces on the ground floor would be obliged to be at least 18 ft in height. It would heighten the experience at street level.
  12. Not much of an overpass. IMO an overpass similar in size to the one in Toronto connecting King Street to the CN Tower and to the aquarium would be more appropriate and highlight the connection over the tracks to the water.
  13. With Molson moving, do we need all those tracks along the River? Can’t we reduce to 1 or 2 tracks and cover with a deck bringing the whole site to the edge of the river.
  14. It would be a great loss. Although I disagree with his comments at times, I find most are painfully honest.
  15. ..and the ground floor on the St Laurent side is a disaster.
  16. It’s unfortunate that the whole base facing RL is built up to the sidewalk. It would have made the pedestrian experience on RL more enjoyable and grand if there were a recessed space at street level.
  17. I am not a botanist but is there a way of greening our city in the winter with trees/plants that don`t lose their foliage?
  18. And so is the ground floor on the Clark side.
  19. This would have looked extraordinarily amazing if it were 15 to 20 stories taller.
  20. C’est pas fini encore, mais a date, on peut feliciter monsieur Legault pour son leadership.
  21. The base would come alive, and so would Ste Catherine, if they would animate it a la Broadway with emphasis on theatrical productions and other events currently playing in the city.
  22. Why are we spending good money on increasing frequency when the real problem is time? To increase drastically ridership in the Toronto/Quebec city corridor we need fast train transport. Imagine Montreal/Toronto in less than 2hrs, Montreal/Ottawa in less than 1hour and then you’ll require frequency. I know the cost sounds prohibitive but in the long run it would be a sound business investment. Maybe the federal and provincial governments should partner with a Caisse de depot to get it done.
  23. Wouldn’t it make sense to wrap the facade of McDonald’s onto the side with as much fenestration as possible and do a Canadiens mural for the non fenestered portion. It would do wonders to the promenade.
