    Amazing project! i could see something similar on Greene avenue between Lionel Groux metro and Atwater market and Lachine canal.

    A tall very skinny would be preferable as it would keep the focus at street level, minimize the obstruction of 1250 from the east and minimize the view obstruction from the Klondike.

    It is unfortunate they did not relocate hwy 10 under the canal.

    I still believe this project would look so much better combining both towers to the west and have the open space along Peel.

    What would have made this work was it’s extravagance. A slimmed down more sober version will not attract the masses and be a flop.

    The ventilation tower can be incorporated as part of the building. The whole Southwest corner including the ventilation tower does not look very pretty.

    Now all we’re missing to make boul RB complete is an iconic project on the bureau en gros Lot; a phase 2 of the duke; commercialization of the railway bridge; and another iconic development on both the northern and southern end of the railway bridge and what a transformation in just a few years.

    That animation would do wonders all along Ste Catherine instead of those white frames.

    I am not suggesting to imitate an old building. We could have had a 21st century equivalent of the European masterpieces you named. Could not ask for a better location to do that.

    I think we missed an opportunity in the heart of the city that connects with everything to transform a shopping center into something spectacular and audacious - like the Galleria in Milan.

    I could definitely see something like this (proposed for Ottawa) on St Patrick along the canal facing Atwater market

    Yes, instead of the corridor being at the north end with only sides of stores facing onto it, a central corridor Would provide prime retail space.

    I don’t quite understand why they did not line up the connection to historic building with the McGill college entrance. Would have looked spectacular.

    IMO this whole project would look so much better if they got rid of the second building along Jean D'Estrees, add density (more floors) to the main building, and push back the main building to the west creating an open space in front of the building along Peel. This would give more prominence to the building, eliminate the canyon effect along Peel and give greater visibility to the Windsor building to the north.

    The Western Wall - all 10+ floors covering the whole width Ste Cath to de Maisonneuve would make a great animated screen - movies, advertisement, events, etc. The whole could probably be financed with the ad revenues.

    What makes it epic is the two towers. I am hoping that they'll build both at the same time. There should be enough demand for this project to attain the % required for financing purposes.
