  1. I hope they had a beer museum (think Guinness in Dublin) and a Molson museum. Both would make great destinations and extensions from the old port.
  2. I am not envisioning a big glass entry. The Beaver Hall side is fine. It's on Boul Robert Bourassa that it has no connection to the street.
  3. Any reason why they're keeping the YWCA building
  4. This building would have made a great boutique hotel - too bad it's an office building
  5. Not too street friendly. Any hope of opening up on Robert Bourassa - looks like a fortress
  6. Why do we keep adding new buildings instead of developing the old Dow building SE corner Peel/Notre Dame?
  7. Stadium will never happen unless part of a massive real estate project with stadium, entertainment including restaurants, as anchor to the project.
  8. What a disappointment! I was expecting a glass cube.
  9. I could definitely see this transformed into a panoramic conference center on the rooftop with an additional rooftop floor similar to the Marina Sands in Singapore. The Silo itself could be transformed into a boutique type hotel in the industrial style. Great addition to the old port area
  10. The #1 priority for Quebec should e to redo all exchanges that require an exit through a service road instead of direct connections between 2 highways. They just redid the 13 interchange with the 40 and guess what - through the f... service road.
  11. What a waste. They should have looked at Spadina in Toronto as a model and have the tramway extend on Notre Dame to downtown.
  12. To avoid having the skyline look like a picket fence, they should allow 2 or 3 250+m to give dimension. Chicago is a good example.
  13. La ville devrait tout faire pour encourager le développement de se site.
  14. Why are they adding new buildings and not developing the old brewery building at the SE corner of peel and Notre Dame?

    Promenades Cathédrale

This could have been a perfect opportunity to create something iconic in the likes of the Galleria in Milan between the Bay, the new Eaton Center, and the new Phillips Square
  16. Sorry - did not see it. Thank you.
  17. Does anyone know what it is for Quebec?
  18. How long has this been going on for?
  19. Est-ce que la ville à des pouvoirs d’expropriation pour un projet ce cet ampleur?
  20. I could definitely see a similar project like this around the Lionel Groulx metro station covering the area south of the highway, Atwater to Green, all the way to Atwater market with a pedestrian promenade along Green connecting the metro to the market and the canal. It would make a great IT hub or satellite with the construction of loft-like buildings along the promenade similar to the Chelsea market area in NYC and would significantly densify the residential component of the area.
  21. IMO it’s unfortunate that both ONE and the Hampton hotel don’t have any Chinese characteristics like the Holiday Inn next door. It would have given Chinatown more dimension especially when approaching from Old Montreal. The same should be done with future projects for the north side on René Levesque.
  22. There was talk of reverting the student residence back to a hotel. Any news?
