Hugo Joncas from the Journal des Affaires has in an article today a new rendering for the proposed new Rio Tinto Alcan Montreal Head Office .

Lets hope this projet will go ahead for Montreal.

FXFOWLE designed a new 350,000-square-foot environmentally-responsible regional headquarters for a multi-national corporation in downtown Montreal. The building's layout features open office space wrapped around a central core. A large ground-floor public lobby and atrium offer refuge from winter weather and provide direct connection to the city's underground promenade and metro system. Sustainable building features—including an efficient under-floor air distribution system and automated shades that mitigate daylight—further respond to the cold climatic conditions. The project aims to achieve LEED Platinum certification from the CaGBC.

FXFowle has done some amazing stuff including 1 Bryant Park - Bank of America NY head office. This is appalling. No doubt Westcliff has them on a tight leash, but that lot deserves a skyscraper. Period.
