  1. Early 1990's. The tore them down, dug a very deep hole and had a billboard up. Then it went bust and a few people laost their deposits but I can't remember the name of the project.
  2. Mais avant ca c'etait une brasserie avec trois Greystones détruit pour un autre projet qui n'a jamais été construit
  3. Not sure we want high rises on St. Catherine. Do you mean horizontal high rise? Where would you suggest?
  4. Actually, given the buildup of residential building in Griffintown and the fact that the offices of the Central Business District are on the other side of these new buildings, I don't see deserted streets but rather a vibrant transitional zone as long as these buildings have street level commercial venues. This could become as vibrant as St Catherine near Le Seville. Have you seen that area lately? It used to look like a war zone and now its buzzing.
  5. Yes but remember what was there before? At least we are adding to the density of downtown and the tax base.
  6. Attendez - est-ce un nouveau ou le même?
  7. Ils commencent à 40% pas 60%?
  8. This announcement is strange: the south east corner of Berger and St Catherine is the building that houses Club 281 which is attached to a church, so unless they are going to renovate and kick out club 281, it makes little sense. The south WEST corner is the empty block with the funny four story cut off building with the ice cream place, a more viable location. Any ideas?
  9. Won't this project be hidden by the multifunctional builing of the CHUM project" http://www.quartiersantemontreal.com/EN/multifunct
  10. Remember Les Terraces? What a mess! It was like playing 3-D chess: cool idea but really annoying. That's the difference between "classic" architecture (that stands the test of time) and "flavour of the week," like the Faubourg
  11. "Newtown" as it was called was primarily developed between 1880 and 1910, so somewhere around then. (Mansions of the Golden Square Mile, François Rémillard)
  12. Great news, but in this market? What's the point?
  13. Aujourd'hui dans La Gazette: http://blogs.montrealgazette.com/2013/11/07/what-slowdown-condo-developer-promises-groundbreaking-in-a-week/
  14. Funny, both SE7T and URB condos by Samcon are on the same block. Pourquoi?
