  1. Yup, change it to Pierre-de-Coubertin Street, since there is Pierre-de-Coubterine Ave
  2. I remember one of my first posts on here, I called a 6 storey building a skyscraper and I was called out for that. The good old days of Mtlurb :p
  3. I have been asking myself that same question, since I saw the article this morning. Why not rename Lionel Groulx metro to Bernard Landry metro? I think it be better to remember a separatist over an anti semitic priest.
  4. Too bad it didn't open this week. I would have brought my brother and sister-in-law out.
  5. It sounds like a Trivago commercial. It be like: I thought I lived on the penthouse floor.
  6. Next stop Bernard Landry-Griffintown has a nice ring to it, no?
  7. Nevermind, I thought it was like Nan Shan Plaza in Taipei.
  8. The section near Jarry and Pie IX is coming along nicely.
  9. It is a nice library, I went in the summer. Too bad the 3d printers can only be used during certain time periods.
  10. That is amazing news. Hopefully more stations will get washrooms in the future, but I guess that will be at the same pace as the orange line, blue line and yellow line extension.
  11. On the tour can I ask when the suburbs will have the powerlines placed underground or is that a no no? /jk I might take the tour, it be fun to see inside the building.
  12. I would like the government to force people to get automated cars ASAP. I know the tech isn't all there yet, maybe in the next 5 years or so. I am tired of the morons on the road that cross solid lines, don't use a turn signal, turn when they are not suppose to turn, block the box, run stop signs and the list goes on. People who want to drive non-automated cars, should pay a hefty premium (25% for new cars, up to 100% for cars older than 10 years) every year and get retested. If they fail, they are banned from ever owning a non-automated car ever again. Example If you bought a new car, even an electric car for $40k, you need to pay $10k extra a year to be able to drive it. If you bought a used car that is already 5 years old for say $10k, you will need to pay an extra $5k a year to be able to drive it. If your car is 10+ years and the value is lets say $10k, you will need to pay $10k extra a year to able to drive it. With all this extra money, the government could properly fund public transit (REM, metro extensions, trams, etc) Yes, the government will need to subsidize automated vehicles or have many more co-op car sharing services, so people can have access to vehicle under my regime. I know what I am proposing is insane, but its insane to keep going the way we are going.
  13. I just hope Broccolini wont do a glass tower in this location, but something more like 432 Park Ave (NY)
  14. Waldorf Astoria? Peninsula? Shangri-La? Mandarin Oriental? Lets see what Broccolini comes up with.
  15. They are not redeveloping the current Jardins Dorval, but developing in the parking lot?
  16. Gouin has been painted with the reserved bus lane, but it hasn't been put in service yet. It will be interesting to see how it works out, because if you are not in that lane, you will be stuck going straight, because there is not much room to switch lanes, when you get close to Pitfield.
  17. It looks like a fun project. What would be nice, if they bought the coloured balls from the village and put them up on the esplanade.
  18. What is the timeline for this to be open to the public?
  19. Hydro is looking to get into the hydrogen game. https://www.tvanouvelles.ca/2019/10/21/hydro-quebec-veut-se-lancer-dans-la-production-dhydrogene-1
  20. Courtesy of Radio Canada It will be interesting if they have a device similar to Sense or Neurio energy monitors, so I can see which room/device/outlet is using the most electricity at one time.
  21. Someone should tell the Mayor to compare this park to Phoenix Park and not Central Park. It isn't Central and there isn't tall towers surrounding it. I thought false advertising was illegal?
  22. About time they do something with that place.
  23. That is cool that Polestar will have a store/dealer in Montreal. As for Rivian, it will be interesting to see if they do come to Canada. There is a long list of electric car brands I would like to see suceed: Faraday Future (having issues) Byton, Lucid Motors, Nio (having issues) and Fisker. If I do get an electric car, it might be the VW ID, because of the cost. The future is electric, but I am hoping that hydrogen vehicles play a part in the future too, but time will tell.
  24. I wonder if CDPQ Infra is willing to spend billions on such a project or they will wait to see how the REM turns out. Or the cheaper option, might be expropriate all the land above the proposed pink line and make it ground level, but that will put an even larger burden on our housing market.
