Some of these cities have jaw dropping degrees of construction activity! Just crazy how quiet it is here....while we can all come up with the usual reasons it would make for a very interesting analysis of what drives some cities to see such levels of construction vs. the utter lack of activity here.

 

Well, we do have a lot of activity here. It may not be as impressive but if we look at everything being done it is quite impressive. Maybe some of these cities dont have much zoning or city regulations therefor they can built as high as they want anywhere they want therefor it looks very impressive for us but once on the street level things can be quite different.

We do indeed have a lot of small and medium projects. Also, our new constructions are fairly scattered around throughout the city. However, if you take every 3-storey+ building going up right now and put them all together, it would be enough to fill at least a dozen city blocks.

Je serais curieux de savoir combien de petits projets se construisent à Toronto, à Vancouver, etc.

Uniquement pour les projets rapportés sur MtlURB (j'ai simplement fait le total des discussions sur MtlURB pour les projets terminés en 2009)

Ce serait bien d'Avoir un de ces chantiers à Montréal. On devrait profiter du fait qu'on ne puisse pas dépasser 230 quelques mètres pour faire deux tours de 180m plutôt qu'une tour de 350m ...
