I was on the 6th floor of the JMSB and I could see them re-doing the roof.

Moi aussi j'aime bien ce coin. Il est vrai que plusieurs édifices sont affreusement laids mais cela fait très urbain, très dense, plutot abordable pour les étudiants et cela donne un aspect très....... grandes villes du tiers monde !!!

 

Montréal se doit d'etre belle, verte, accueillante mais si elle doit etre une grande ville il y aura aussi de ces endroits.....donc

Someone already tried to blow up 1645, they took out most of the whole floor in the middle Eighties

 

I don't have an issue with any of the buildings themselves, particularly the newer towers. The area though looks really ugly. The real problem IMO is that everything is very dirty and looks dirty. The whole place needs someone with a Binford pressure washer to clean up the concrete buildings, sidewalks, etc. (and redo the sidewalk completely on the north side of deMaisonneuve).

 

In regards to the Victoria School, I always wondered why it was completely roped-off... why not sell parking spaces? (the lots were/are even marked, just call Stat de Mtl...) Now with some work going on I can understand they may need the space...
