Is there any cultural or symbolic significance of the balcony pattern on the Duke (RL) side?

It was discussed many pages ago: from what i got, it seems to represent a First Nations teepee from the architects' intention.

I must admit that i personally can't help but seeing a West Coast rain forest evergreen tree, as the height of this pattern isn't compatible with the size of any trees growing on the East Coast.

Or else a feather (in the outline), though the 3-D aspect isn't so compatible with this symbolic. 🌲

Oh ok I didn’t remember that, thanks! I do remember the cut corner symbolizing a canoe.

It would actually make more sense, being located so close to a millenia-old "canoe seaway"!
