Le CH répétera-t-il l'expérience?

La direction du Canadien de Montréal n’est pas certaine qu’elle veut répéter l’expérience de retransmettre en direct les matchs à l’étranger, après que la rue Sainte-Catherine ait été le théâtre de pillage et de casse après le septième match entre le Canadien et les Penguins.

Questionné par Le Journal de Montréal le vice-président aux communications du Canadien de Montréal, Donald Beauchamp, a indiqué qu’aucune décision n’avait été prise à savoir si les prochains matchs à l’étranger seront projetés au Centre Bell.

 

La direction du club analysera la situation et annoncera sa décision au cours des prochains jours.

 

Lors du dernier match, le Centre Bell avait retransmis sur des écrans géants la partie de hockey, disputée à Pittsburgh. Quelque 20 000 fans avaient obtenu des billets pour 7,50$.

 

L’idée semblait bonne, vu l’ambiance électrisante qui régnait dans l’enceinte de l’aréna, mais la soirée a tourné au vinaigre après le match.

 

Parmi les 50 000 personnes qui se sont rendues rue Sainte-Catherine pour fêter la victoire du Tricolore, 500 personnes ont profité de l’occasion pour faire de la casse. La majorité d’entre elles n’avaient pas participé aux festivités du CH: elles ont plutôt profité de l’événement pour faire du grabuge, en se mêlant dans la foule.

 

Trois commerces ont été saccagés, dont une succursale de la SAQ. Des policiers et au moins un citoyen ont été blessés dans des affrontements violents entre agents du Service de police de la Ville de Montréal et trouble-fête.

 

La dernière fois qu’un match à l’étranger du Tricolore en séries éliminatoires avait été diffusé sur écran géant, c’était en 1993, lorsque l’équipe avait remporté la Coupe Stanley.

I also agree with Peekay. But the thing I can't wrap my head around is that these idiots didn't even do it for high priced items, THEY DID IT FOR SHOES!!!!! SHOES!!!! Plus, at Foot Locker, you buy one pair and you get the second pair half price! I have trouble imagining such a level of stupidity. We need to study these people like we study diseases, because they clearly are the weakest link in our species. I almost shit my pants laughing when I saw the pics OursNoir posted. There is one where you see this total moron running out of the SAQ with a couple of bottle of rosé wine......ROSÉ WINE PEOPLE!!! IS THIS EVEN POSSIBLE???
