the ultimate stupidity that the WI branch stations aren't located on Sources, St-John's and St-Charles

I'm talking door to door. The door of PB is 500 metres from the eventual door of GFT station (in between William and Ottawa); if I go to Fairview, I don't only go to Simons. What about if I want to reach the Bay or the Keg, at the other end? Add another 300+ metres. But outdoors, the station is a 500 metre walk from the entrance to Fairview, a very similar distance from GFT-BL to the door of PB on St-Antoine.

 

 

Cette ligne droite ne se marche pas. C'est plus long en réalité. il y a une entrée d'autoroute à contourner. La petite pente lorsque glacée est quelque chose.

 It's pretty convenient, we can walk directly from the REM to the Subway.

Agreed, that's a very hostile parking lot especially since its close to the entrance, people are speeding through all the time and there's just a massive amount of cars at all times. Fairview parking lot makes me more nervous than even Carrefour Laval (which isin't that bad compared in my opinion)

They need some kind of walkway or something maybe similar to Du Quartier station, otherwise there's going to be people getting run over by people looking for parking.

Je dois avouer: je suis allé magasiner au 10-30 en ReM cette semaine. Je préfère l’hostilité montréalaise aux champs infinis d’automobiles. 😝

Ok yeah, without some sort of interface, the station is pretty effin far from CF Fairview mall. In a straight line, it's 350 metres from the station entrance doors to the westernmost entrance of the mall; but currently it's a hostile parking lot environment with no walkways or sidewalks, so more like 500 metres – the same distance as Ottawa to Place Bonaventure that has so many bitching about the lack of a GFT station.

 

 

It is a good opportunity to redevelop the area into something more transit and pedestrian friendly.  The (only) beauty of parking lots is that when you make something else of them, it is almost always an improvement...
