Maybe i'm wrong but perhaps with this E race Coderre want to promote the eastern side of downtown around the Jacques-Cartier bridge and Radio-Canada and Molson sector which are going to be develloped in a near future.

Je n'ai lu ça nul part. Il n'y a pas beaucoup d'endroit avec la place pour l'équipement au centre-ville.

Le secteur enclavé est très gauchiste-socialiste également, pas du monde qui votent pour Coderre naturellement de toute façon.

Of course ca vient de moi. C'est mon hypothese.  Je peuit etre aussi completement dans le champs.

Well duh, if the event was held in outremont, trust me the english media would talk about it. They dont give a shit cuz it's in a french neighbourhood. Also Radio-canada is litterally surrended by the event so its hard for them not to cover it, also the offices of LaPresse arent too far away either.

Un couple d'amis habite dans le secteur fermé. Un vrai bordel, surtout les travaux la nuit. 

Rien de grave comme on l'a raconté avant, mais ils sont épuisés de tout ça. Ils veulent bien croire que c'est bon "pour l'image de la ville" (vous aviez entendu parlé de la Formule E avant?), mais ils trouvent ça franchement intense.

On leur a offert des billets, mais ils préfèrent quitter pour la fin de semaine pour la maison familiale.

I had that reflex too.

I thought that it might be in their intentions to bring the cameras east. Get people not familiar with this area acclimatized to this part of downtown. The choice of the site is not only the abundance of empty lots, it is also for the urban scenery and the potential developments to follow.

In a few weeks, the action plan for  Stratégie centre ville will be published. It will probably show the areas (around the track) that will eventually give way to new developments. A neighbourhood that will give Montrealers and visitors new acces the river. In 3 years or so construction cranes will take over the empty lots and soon to be demolished Molson buildings.  In the meantime I think the Village and nearby businesses will profit from the crowds and the publicity. And the the race will have served a promotional service to the promoters of the soon to be announced projects.

Outremont? --Le bastion de la haute bourgeoisie canadienne-française! (Je parle de «Outremont ma chère», pas de «Outremont pas cher»  ou de «Outremont casher»--les expresions ne sont pas de moi  et sont bien connues).

Comme on sait les stéréotypes concernant la minorité anglophone privilégiée se rapportent habituellement à Westmount...

Thank God we can still find a way to critize the English media even when they're not being negative !

Lots of English media here too. CTV, CBC, CJAD...

Coderre serait heureux de vous lire. Vous lui trouver des intentions qu'il n'avait même pas, et vous le savez en plus.

Notre bon Maire veut aider le développement de l'Est en y amenant une course et surtout, il ne le dit pas publiquement par humilité. Un vrai Saint.
